Hi again...

OK, I am making my ADRs Saturday so I will leave you all alone after that! I had everything planned out and now of course I am second guessing. On our last morning I was planning on the character breakfast at 'Ohana. We have done it before and enjoyed the food and the characters (I know that it does seem to be a little hit-or-miss according to the reviews I have read here, but we seemed to catch it on a good day). We are staying at the Poly so it will be super-easy to get there. :) But now I am wondering if we should try 1900 Park Fare as something new instead. I have little boys, but they both really like Alice in Wonderland and Mary Poppins, so I know they would like the characters. Is the food good/better than 'Ohana? We love breakfast food in general, so we are not too picky! And since it's at the GF, it is also super close (we'll be doing a half park day before heading out that day, so we don't want to spend a lot of travel time that morning).

Anyone who has done both...which did you prefer? Would you stick with the familiar or branch out? Who could ever imagine the stress of deciding where to eat...SIX MONTHS before you even get there??? :lmao:

We did both & O'hana was our favorite breakfast of our trip. 1900PF had regular breakfast fare---I forgot to get the strawberry soup! I'd go to 1900PF to do something different.

We did 1900 for breakfast on our last trip (May '11) after doing dinner there previously. Food was good, typical American breakfast buffet + the famous strawberry soup! Our ADR was right at opening. Characters seemed fairly rushed, not a lot of interaction. They signed our autograph book, quick photo & they were off. We had Alice, Mary, Pooh, Tigger & Belle. Really bummed b/c the main one we wanted to see was the Mad Hatter :sad2: Still, it was a good breakfast with plenty of food to choose from and a great way to start our day. Of course the hotel, etc are beautiful, too. We haven't done Ohana's but after reading all the reviews I'm thinking it might be on our list for the next trip. Sorry I can't compare the two. Since you've been to Ohana's though I would suggest 1900. It's always fun to try new spots! Either way, it'll be great!

Oooh, tough choice. Those are my kids' favorite character meals. If I had to chose between the two (and I never do, btw, we always do both :) ), I'd probably go with.......
O'Hana. My oldest daughter is in love with Stitch and has been since she was 2.
But since you haven't been to 1900, I'd say give it a try! We love it, and I hope you will too! Last time we went, unfortunately the Mad Hatter was not there, but we still had amazing character interaction, including my favorite picture of the entire trip.
Good luck and have fun!

Have done both and liked Ohana better. Now, my DD is Stitch-crazy and that's why we went, but I thought the character interaction was better overall. Also, it was nice that the food is brought to your table rather than having to do buffet lines. Don't forget to try the POG juice, made fresh by Stitch every morning!

Did them both back in 08/2009.
IMHO ... 1900PF the food was better/fresher, both basic and 'other'.
Ohanas was OK, but the atmosphere felt 'run down'/'worn' :confused3

We do both every year.

We enjoy the food at both places. However, 1900 has more variety. . and (to us) 'Ohana tends to be more fun.

I'd branch out, I don't think food wise you can go wrong with either. And it might be nice to get your DSs photos with the characters at 1900 while they are still fans.

I have done both and I do O'hana every trip for breakfast we love it that much! I would however suggest you try 1900 PF. The food was typical although the strawberry soup is amazing and the characters are good.

you can't fit in both???

We really enjoy Ohana's breakfast. There is less variety but we like looking out over Bay Lake. Also, it's a served meal, you don't have to get up 10 times or wait in a line. Of course your server will bring you more of what ever you want and they keep the juice and coffee flowing.

Thats a tough choice, we also love both places! But I say go for 1900 PF since you've never been before, and its always nice to try something new. I love it there. REAL BACON! thats a bonus. Lol.

I vote for 1900 Park Fare, it is one my favorite breakfasts based on characters alone. They are great! Plus I tend to prefer the face characters. There is a good selection of food as well. We have done Ohana breakfast twice and while we really like it too, I think 1900 Park Fare is just a little better.

We did both this past October, though I've done O'hana once before that.

We did 1900 Park Fare mainly for the Mad Hatter, which I'm thankful to say after reading the other posts, was definitely present that day. The food was okay, and the character interaction (besides Mad Hatter) was quick and to the point. However, that doesn't bother us because we didn't want to hang around all day, we wanted to head out to the parks!

I'd have to say we still enjoyed O'hana better. More interaction, and in the parade around the restaurant, our son was caught in the "London Bridge" type hug by Lilo and Stitch, which totally made his day. Like some other posters, I do enjoy having food brought to you...you don't have to worry about missing a character coming by your table.

We had great service both places. The atmosphere is a bit stuffy at 1900 Park Fare, but again, we weren't really too worried about seeing anything but the Mad Hatter.

I'd try 1900 Park Fare just to do something different, but I have a feeling you'll miss your trip to O'hana!

We perfer Ohana since we don't have to do the buffet shuffle to get food for everyone while making sure not to miss the characters. By the end of the trip I'd think I'd want to relax and enjoy my meal instead of stressing!

We've done 1900PF breakfast twice and 'Ohana breakfast once.

1900 PF
- the service was EXCELLENT our first visit and downright HORRIBLE the second visit
- the sticky pecan buns/rolls were DIVINE both visits as was the smoked salmon - YUM!!!
- the lobster benedict was better the first visit
- with the exception of the Mad Hatter, this has been our fave meal for character interaction. We had an AMAZING Winnie the Pooh first visit and Mary Poppins actually sang with our kids this last visit
- they handled our food allergies really well

'Ohana
-our server was amazing!
- our food was avg in some regards and sub par in others... ultimately disappointing food
- the character interaction was great and we did this as our farewell to Mickey (which obviously you can't do at 1900PF), but if this weren't our farewell meal- I'd rate the character interaction as good w/special bonus points for an excellent Lilo
- the kids really enjoyed the parade here whereas there's nothing like that over at 1900PF
- I like the atmosphere in 'Ohana better

It's a tough call, but I think 1900PF still wins this battle for us. It's also pretty convenient since you'll be at the Poly...obviously not as convenient as 'Ohana, but one stop away on the Monorail is pretty good. :thumbsup2

1900 Park Fare is a lot of Princess' and food same as Crystal Palace to me. O'Hana's is Lilo and Stitch and very good...Cape May has a Goofy and pals breakfast which is very good..the thing with O Hana's is they so slow getting you seated with ADR'S so if you have to catch a bus to airport could be close.....:surfweb:

Given the choice, my girls pick 'Ohana every time. They LOVE Lilo and Stitch. My DH and I like that it is served rather than another buffet. I really like the juice too and the girls enjoy the character parade.

Thank you all so much. I won't make up my mind 100% until I'm online tomorrow morning, I'm sure, but we're really leaning towards doing 'Ohana again. I'm just not sure my wild children can give up the chance to dance around the restaurant in the parade!!! As long as my older DS gets a chance to see Belle somewhere else (he's got a little crush :lovestruc), he will be good to go. Personally, I really want to try the strawberry soup, but I'm only one vote! Thanks again so much...if we don't make 1900 this time I am sure we will next go-round!
