Hi all

I am just starting to make some firm decisions on our ADRs for our special trip next August and my current decision is where to eat breakfast on the morning of my Mum's 60th birthday.

She wants to go to MK for the day so I was thinking Crystal Palace as Pooh is her total fave! (We are doing CRT with just "the girls" early on in our trip, hopefully anyway!!!)

But I was reading a trip report and 1900 Park Fare looked lovely - the reports on the food & character interaction seemed great too! Plus Pooh is there, but also Mary Poppins and the Mad Hatter!!!

So what would you choose???

Help!

Thank you
Julie xxx

Last year I tried CP and I didn't like it at all, 1900 PF is for me, food is so much better characters are great but ust remeber the characters are only as good as the people who are in the cotumes. Madhatter was hysterical :santa:

My MIL also adores Pooh! We ate at Crystal Palace our last trip and the character interaction was fantastic. We loved it! And, you can't beat the location if you're going to be at Magic Kingdom.

With that said, I must admit that - while we haven't done 1900 Park Fare - it's becoming increasingly appealing to me. Pooh and Tigger are fun (at CP), but Piglet and Eeyore have little appeal for me. By going with 1900 Park Fare, you can trade out Piglet and Eeyore for a bit more "interesting" characters. I hear the Mad Hatter is a riot!

Unless it was cut-and-dried more convenient for your family to go to CP, I'd go with 1900 Park Fare. But, if your mom is a major Pooh AND FRIENDS fan, then CP is your better choice.

Sorry...I'm obviously no help! :)

My vote would be for 1900 PF for better food, better character interaction and la great venue.

1900 parkfare was a lovely surprise, we never ate at CP for breakfast, but after my last dinner there I swore I would never return, the food was mediocre at best and the characters were completely lost n the crowd and did not get to every table
however the buffet at parkfare is a step above the rest with the lobster eggs benedict, the pecan sticky buns, strawberry soup , and it is true that the mad hatter is hilarious, and alice spent alot of time with us

We have not done 1900 for breakfast, but I thought dinner was really disappointing, so we are in no rush to go back there. On the other hand we do a CP breakfast almost every trip. We try to get the earliest ADR so we can walk down an empty mains street and get pics of the castle without the crowds. The food is really good as well (my wife loves the puffed french toast). I think the character interaction at each place is very good as well (although I admit, the Mad Hatter seems very intriguing). Good luck on whatever you decide.

You've said some magic words... "eggs benedict" and "sticky bun"!!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I think that is why I am swaying more to 1900 Park Fare as the food does look wonderful in comparison to CP (my opinion anyway!).

Thank you everyone - this is really helpful and I am so glad I asked because many of you said 1900 Park Fare and I admit I thought everyone would favour CP!

I shall ask my Dad what he thinks and show him your responses!

Thank you so much once again xxx

We've eaten at both and like both food varieties equally. We really like CP because you are already in the park, plus we like to get an ADR for before the park opens so we can get some great pictures of the Castle and Main Street before the hordes of crowds come walking in. However, 1900 Park Fare was really good too. We had dinner there last December and didn't care for it much, but tried the breakfast this past September and was really impressed by it. All the characters were great (especially the Mad Hatter), but they do have Pooh and Tigger there also which is a big plus in my book because they too are my faves :goodvibes. I really don't think you can go wrong with either one of these restaurants, you just have to decide if you would like to eat in the park or at a resort. Good luck.

We ate breakfast at both restaurants and enjoyed them! However, in this scenario my vote would be CP.

- get early ressie for CP and you & your mom can get in to MK before park opening. I'm so glad I took DIS advice for that on our trip.

- Although the Grand Florian is a beautiful resort, I felt when it came to the individual restaurants - Crystal Palace is much more beautiful and has better atmosphere than 1900 Park Fare! And if you get a window seat, the view is great! I loved eating and looking out the window at the Castle!

- Character wise at 1900 Park Fare, Mad Hatter is a hoot for sure! Pooh & Tiger will be there too. All 4 Pooh characters at Crystal Palace.

- food-wise... maybe because it was our first day at Disney? Even though believe the food was much the same quality-wise at both places, I remember CP being tops! More relaxing for us.

- Photographer at 1900 Park Fare, but background is kind of cheesy (IMO) and you have to pay for the photos. No photographer at CP, but does have a beautiful flower garden (with Pooh & Tiger in it) and a bench to sit and have your photo taken. I liked that better.
