1900 Park Fare Questions?

We were considering doing 1900 Park Fare on a future trip and I was wondering if it's better to do Breakfast or dinner there? My brother would love to see the Mad Hatter, and I would love to see Mary Poppins, so that's why we're considering Breakfast. Cinderella is a favorite among us, so we figured the dinner as another option.

I had a few questions:
Is the food good?
How is character interaction?
Which is a better time to go?

And another Q:
How is the slipper dessert, and can it be ordered for a Breakfast reservation?

I like breakfast a lot better....we were not impressed with the characters or the food at dinner. Breakfast had great food and amazing character interaction.

I would go with whatever characters you most want to see.

We had the dining plan for our last trip and did both breakfast and dinner there. These were the only two character meals we did. The breakfast was good, but we're not too big on breakfast. I don't really remember much of the food from dinner, but I know none of us were impressed.

My kids wanted to see Alice and Mary Poppins so we did the breakfast. We had one of the latest reservations, so we were able to do EMH at MK that morning and then take the boat over. That was a fun experience.

We all wanted to meet Anastasia and Drizella and my younger daughter's favorite princess is Cinderella so we had to do the dinner. That one was wonderful for the character interaction. Lady Tremaine and the sisters were awesome and Cinderella must have realized how thrilled DD was to meet her (although she's very shy) because when she danced with the prince she came right over and picked DD to be the first child to dance with her.

I've done both and really like both of them. I don't think you can go wrong with either one. At dinner the step-sisters are hysterical! We had a lot of fun withe the Mad Hatter too.

I loved the dinner there. The prince and Cinderella do a dance together and they pulled my DD to dance with them!

we did the dinner and then went to MNSSHP and I think we will do it again next trip before MVMCP next NOV

I've never done dinner there, but we've done breakfast twice. Both times the food was pretty good- in fact, the pecan rolls they have on the buffet are probably my single most favorite thing to eat at WDW. I really wanted to grab the whole tray and stuff them into my backpack!!! The smoked salmon set up is also a big fave of mine as well.

Our first visit we had excellent service, but this last trip our server really dropped the ball. She never brought DH his drink and never bothered to even take my drink order. She disappeared for pretty much the entire meal. We asked other staff members and servers to help us, but that never happened. I figure while it was horrible serive that can happen to anyone and the bulk of the meal and character M&Gs were very good, so breakfast at 1900PF is still something we'll continue to do.

As for the characters, we've had an awesome Mary Poppins both times we went. This last time, we had a Mary that even sang a little bit with the kids.

Sadly, the Mad Hatter has been a total letdown for us both times. I sooooo want him to be MAD, but the first one had barely anything to say and the second one wouldn't get "mad" with any of the families who have younger kids. I noticed that our Mad Hatter from our August trip was the Mad Hatter in MK at MNSSHP doing M&Gs and people have had good things to say- so maybe we just caught him on an off day.

I wonder if it was a different CM. Our Mad Hatter was AWESOME...the best character we have ever experienced at WDW. He was so crazy obnoxious that my 6yo at the time went under the table when he got to us and wouldn't come out for love nor money. You should have seen that interaction. He actually sat down at the table and decided to stay and eat breakfast with us in her spot since she wouldn't come out. It was hysterical!

See I would have loved that! Our Mad Hatter stopped by very briefly, asked if we were enjoying our tea and if it was anyone's unbirthday, signed the autograph book and took one quick picture and was off. We saw him once during our meal, but we saw Pooh and Tigger twice. Hoping the next time we go it will be a little different.

We did the dinner when we went in 08. Food.... but the characters were great... especially the step sisters. Our trip in November we are going to try the breakfast.... hopefully the food is better.

My brother is quite obssesed with the Mad Hatter. He missed out on a chance a few years ago to meet the Hatter (He had to take a bathroom break and I was fortunate enough to meet Alice and the Hatter) and ever since he has been bugging us about seeing the Hatter. I've heard he doesn't do the Meet n' Greet at the Teacups where I met him, so now Park Fare seems like our only choice for seeing the Hatter.

I'm sure if we save enough we might do both meals, because I REALLY REALLY want to meet the Prince, and I never see him at the parks. Plus I've heard so many good things about the Stepsisters and that's another reason I want to try it!

So we may end up doing both. Keep the comments coming though, please!

We ate there last Monday night and enjoyed our meal. We liked that the buffet had some different choices, like sushi. We also enjoyed the chicken marsala, the salmon with dill sauce (yummy!) and the stir fry. The characters were very fun and it was nice to meet five characters at once. Cinderella there was much friendlier than the one we met at Akershus and the step-sisters are a hoot, although they toned it down a bit for us when they noticed that our 4 year old daughter was a little leery of them. Overall, a nice dining experience and we would do it again.

We have enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in the past year. IMO the breakfast food was better; dinner was good too though. We had fun character interaction at both. I think it comes down to which characters you prefer. I think if we had to pick one it would be breakfast, but that's partly because we have had many meals with Cinderella and other princesses over the years, and the breakfast characters are a hit with the whole family

We did the breakfast and found the food to be quite good. The character interaction was OK (mad hatter, alice, pooh, tigger, mary poppins). Alice was really cute when she played around with my son. There were a few that came over more than once, (probably cuz we were there forever).

It was my dd's 4th bday so they brought her out a souvenir placemat and a giant cupcake. The only other character meal we've done is Chef Mickey's breakfast which was Ok, but really loud. 1900PF was much more low key. Kids loved the strawberry soup.
