1900 Park Fare or Crystal Palace for dinner? Characters aside, which one has better food? Nicer experience/service/atmosphere?

DH, MIL, DD4 and DS1 are looking for dinner before Wishes next February. We are already doing the CRT for DD. DS isn't old enough to notice or care if we have a character meal "for him", so we could really go either way as far as characters.

OR should we go somewhere else? Doesn't have to be a character meal, just good and able to get to Wishes within a reasonable time...

I can't wait to hear what you all think! Thanks!

I'd go for Crystal Palace ....... seems like the last few times we've been at 1900 Park Fare, the quality of the food has really gone downhill. I think CP has a much bigger selection, also.

We love both, & do both almost every trip.

But my DH says that Crystal Palace is one of his favorites....it's got some great items on the buffet. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Crystal Palace. We have done CP for years - its one of our regular stops. This year we decided to try 1900 Park Fare for a change. There was nothing wrong with it, but we just like CP better. I thought there was more variety at the buffet and the room is set up better.

Wow! Looks like I need to call and change my ADR to Crystal Palace!!! Thanks everyone, The Unofficial Guide didn't seem to give great reviews to either place, but I thought I had heard good things about both here. Crystal Palace seems to be the way to go!

Thanks again!

We love Crystal Palace! Both my girls (12 & 13) favorite characters are here and DH and I really enjoy the food! The selection is large and it has always been fresh and hot! Meeting Pooh and Tigger is a bonus. :)

Disclaimer: we were there during Spring Break and it was a madhouse everywhere.

That said, I'd choose 1900 Park Fare over CP. Why? It took us over 45 minutes after our ADR time to get seated at CP after checking in 20 minutes early. So, over an hour wait outside in the heat with many, many hot and agitated people who were also not seated right away. (We just tried to ignore them and watch Cinderellabration to pass the time.)

Once we got inside it was a ZOO. Our poor server hardly had a chance to breathe. There were people literally running around everywhere and once the character's showed up, it got worse. You always had to watch where you were going because you never knew who was going to run into your path. And it was LOUD.

We had a much shorter wait at 1900 and once we were seated we were relaxed. The only movement besides the characters visiting the tables was the guests going to the buffet. There was no running done by anyone and it was quiet. And our server was extremely attentive and always available.

Now, the food was yummy at both places, so my choice was made because I like to be relaxed while I eat and hear the conversation of my family, not the near screams coming from other tables.

So take what I have to say with a grain of salt. You'll get wonderfully fed at both places. All you need to answer is if you want to eat with Cinderella or Pooh?
