1900 Park Fare: No More Characters??

My parents are in WDW right now & they told me they went to 1900 Park Fare last night. They hadn't been there in a few years.

Anyways, they said that the characters were no longer in the restaurant??

They saw them roaming around the GF lobby near the restaurant, but the characters did not enter the restaurant at all.

When did this change????

4) Your folks need to inquire why there were no characters and ask/demand "compensation".
5) If there truly were no characters, they got "ripped off" (in my personal opinion).

They said they were in the restaurant for dinner for over an hour & no characters in the restaurant at all. They saw the stepsisters & prince charming roaming around the lobby near the restaurant only. I told them they should have complained. They were on DDP & didn't speak up, because they didn't realize they could get their credits reimbursed.

So it sounds like this was just a one night fluke then?

2) During a2-hour period, they should have seen characters.
3) And, yes it is a shame they did not complain.
4) If they stayed at my resort, and complained at my Concierge Desk, I would have reimbursed the DDP credits.

They were staying at the WL & I told them to complain to the front desk, but they didn't think a different hotel than gthe restaurant would care.

They've left already? We actually just ate there last Saturday the 10th and the character interaction was amazing. The stepsisters were fighting over who would get to marry my 3-year-old son and he had a blast! It is true that Cinderella and Prince Charming don't walk around the restaurant, but you get a photo with them at the end of the meal in the back of the restaurant. They should definitely say something because that's an expensive meal, and they didn't get what they paid for even with the dining plan.

Are you sure they were in 1900 Park Fare? and not in Grand Floridian Cafe?

They are side by side with their entrances right together .. and decor same kind of colors etc..

Even if they said nothing I can not comprehend that a restaurant full of families weren't screaming their heads off for the characters.

1) Yipes.
2) Very good question.
3) Never thought of that possibility.
4) Maybe OP should ask the folks once again where they ate, just to make certain.

OP could be onto something, in regards to which restaurant. You should ask if there was a buffet. If not, then it was Grand Floridian Cafe.

And was it definitely dinner? There is now a brunch option (which extends into the afternoon) that does not have characters. Then again, if they were in the lobby... probably not.

They were definitely at 1900. I helped them book their ADR's & my dad only eats at WDW buffets lol It could have been that they were eating in a side room & the characters never came in?? (this happened to me at Chef Mickeys once).

We were there wed. night after 7:30 pm. All the characters were there, the place was a zoo.
The food was terrible. My dh and I both got sick later on. We didnt even wait to see Cinderella or Prince Charming.

When we went to 1900 PF last month, the Step-Sisters were not present during the dinner, but the step-mother, Cinderella and the Prince were. They announced all the characters every hour or so, and then the characters proceeded around the room.

We were there on Sunday. Sisters and Lady Tremaine in the restaurant, Cinderall and Prince Charming photo op afterwards.

Its not too late to complain. maybe your parents could talk to guest services at their resort? are they staying on property?

Man I would be really upset if that happened to me especially if I had kiddos looking forward to characters!
