When is the GF Cafe going to take over for 1900 Park Fare with the characters? I know this is temporary, but does anyone know when it begins or if it has already begun?

Thank you!

I am guessing within the next few weeks. I made a ressie for 8/17 for breakfast with Mary Poppins and was told it would actually be held at the GF Cafe. Enjoy your trip:)

Let's hope this does not get buried.... I want to know new reviews of the rehab meals before we go in August!

I think it's supposed to start 7/9. I'm interested in the reviews as well, as we have ressies there for September.

I just wanted to thank hogwartsdropout for her reply to my question about the menu during the rennovations. She was kind enough to post the following that I am going to share.

Thanks again hogwartsdropout!!!!

kjs1976 kindly posted the menu on another thread, I'll paste it here. We will be going to this meal too, for our Cinderella dinner!

1900 Park Fare Pre-Plated Dinner During the Rehab.

Appetizers - choice of one per adult
Strawberry Soup
House Salad
Mushroom Trangolini (good question, the CM and I had no idea either)
Spicey Shrimp over a grit cake

Entrees
Prime Rib with mashed potatoes and house vegetables
Shrimp Penne Pasta
Smoked Pork Loin with a mustard sauce
Pan-Seared Chicken Breast
Grilled Salmon Napoleon
Herb Marinated Tofu

Dessert
Dessert is one per table and it is a dessert tray with various mini-desserts. The CM did not know any more specifics about the type of desserts.

Children's Menu
Appetizers are a vegetable selection which consists of cut of carrots and celery or a fruit cup. Not sure if she mentioned one other as I was busy writing.

Entress are Penne Pasta with meatballs or chicken fingers with mashed potatoes, broccoli and carrots. If you're concerned about the kiddy menu, call back because I was still back tracking on my writing at that point. Sorry!

Breakfast
Scrambled eggs, Mini-Mickey Waffles, stawberry yogurt, breakfast potatoes, sausage, pastries, oatmeal and fresh fruit. This sounds similar to the Ohana character b-fast, which we loved.

I wouldn't worry so much about the quality of the food as GF Cafe gets good comments on this board. I've had the dinner buffet at 1900 Park Fare and though it was excellent, so no matter which crew is handling the food I think you're in great hands. The GF space has also gotten great reviews, so that shouldn't be a problem. This meal features the "mice" in full costume, but Cindy, Charming and FG Mother are more like people, so it should be easiier for them to move around in the space (Pooh, Mickey, etc. have more bulk).

I will look forward to reading the reviews, but have high expectations and would be excited if we were going. We've opted to take our 5yo boy to Chef Mickey's. The sanctioned rowdyness will be right up his alley! I don't think he'd select a princess meal on his own. Though he does seem to attract the girls and he is very charming! ;)

I will be there in Sept as well, and was wanting to know how the new setup will be. I don't plan on making any changes to my ressie, but I like to know what I'm in for. We are planning on getting a cake for my DD birthday here.

Just subscribing here as we did Park Fare back in April, and are scheduled to go again in August. Our daughter absolutely loved it, so I'm hoping it's the same experience at the Cafe. :goodvibes

We had ressies here on Sept. 14th but finding out that it was going to be a pre-plated dinner we choose to cancel are ressie. I am disappointed I was really wanting pictures with Prince Charming:love: but I guess I will have to try and catch up with him somewhere else.

Let's bump this up.... and keep it there as we await a review of the rehab meal!

I'm awaiting reviews also! We have dinner booked in September. I'm not crazy over buffets and so I'm just fine with a menu. I'm planning to order the strawberry soup and prime rib, but would still like to see some reviews of how the character interaction is going. I would expect it to be pretty good since the GF Cafe is smaller than 1900 PF, so there should be fewer people to meet and greet, no?

jcemom- just OT, I just noticed we're going at exactly same time, and both staying at POFQ! How fun!!!!

I am interested too...

we will be there in mid September and I was really looking forward to it, now I am not so sure...:sad2:

Can't want to hear reviews.

I'm fine with the adult choices but I was kind of hoping they would have something else for the kids since it started out as a buffet. My two under 10's will never want to see another chicken nugget  after 7 days of DDP. Put me down as another person waiting for the review of the Gala Feast.

I had just yesterday booked 1900 Park Fare for our Sept trip. I decided just now to call and see if there were any other childrens options besides the 2 listed on this thread. SHe confirmed that the only options were the pasta dish and the grilled chicken strips. We decided to go ahead and cancel. I'll be interested to see if they do add more choices once they start up the change.

Count me in as one of the interested. We have reservations there for August 27th. DD's one request for our trip was that she wants to where her Cinderella dress and meet Cinderella. I didn't want to use 2 credits at the castle. I thought about booking at Princess Storybook, but there is no guarantee that Cinderella will be there. My family is not picky about food, but I hope we get something decent. Also, 2 options for kids is less than those boring standard menus. Guess we'll see......
