We did both breakfast & dinner in November and plan to do both again next year. The food was very good for both meals.
If we had to choose only one - I know my family would pick dinner. And that decision (dinner over breakfast) would be strictly based on the characters, and not a reflection on the food.
While the breakfast characters were great, those stepsisters were just too funny. My DDs & DH were all cracking up through the meal. It was a lot of fun.
If you go for dinner, have someone ask Anastacia to sing. . .too funny.
We did a very late breakfast once and it was just terrible. The only good things were the strawberry soup and the bread pudding....all the other food was just blech.
The noise level is the number 1 reason why we will not go back...it is just way to crazy insane at this place
Breakfast has Mary Poppins, Alice, the Mad Hatter, Pooh, and Tigger.
Dinner has Stepmother (Lady Tremaine), Step Sisters (Drizella and Anastacia), Cinderella, and Prince Charming.
We have eaten both breakfast and dinner and enjoyed both meals. I did enjoy the characters much more at dinner, but I love the breakfast offerings. I find it to be the best breakfast buffet (I'm a picky eater and they have lots of choices for me).
Don't know if the prime rib will still be on the menu there or not. According to another thread, Disney was changing this for another cut of meat, but I'm not 100% sure on this.
We did dinner there our last trip, just average buffet food. Would not go back for the food alone.
If you have never done a character meal, they are a lot of fun, but your DS might prefer a different type of character meal, one not so princess related. Just a thought.
For character meals at the resorts, 'Ohana's, Cape May, and Chef Mickey's have a good character breakfast. 'Ohana's is my favorite of the three. There is also character dining at CM for dinner although I think breakfast is better there.
Since you are not on the dining plan a character breakfast can actually be a better value if you are looking to cut costs.
This is by far the best of the dinner buffets. SO...if I could only do one character dinner, it would be here. However....my teen likes sit down and be served places that come with pretzel bread.
We just ate there for dinner a little over a week ago. It was our second time and it was just as good as the first. we love it there and will go back again!
I like their breakfast and try not to miss it each trip. As someone noted they said the noise level was loud, I find that is one of the quiet characher meals . just my opinion
If you go to dinner and you get the chance, introduce him to the stepsisters as Prince... we did this to my teenage (16) stepbrother and they kept coming by to flutter their eyelashes at him and blow him kisses... and ended up arguing over him.
He acted embarassed at the time but later admitted that he loved it - and it was hysterical to the rest of us
