My family is trying to decide whether or not to eat at the 1900 Park Fare for their character dinner! If anyone has done this character experience I would love to hear your negative and positive reviews! Thanks..I appreciate your help!

We were just at 1900 Park Fare on Friday, Oct 7.

The food was good. They had roast turkey, beef, mushroom ravioli, some other pasta dishes, sausage, etc. All of it was good. They had a children's buffet, lots of desserts and tasty cold strawberry soup.

The characters all arrived to our table as soon as we were seated at 5pm. It's a pretty restaurant. We've been there 3 times so far (twice for dinner and once for breakfast).

Edited to add that Fairy Godmother is in the lobby when you enter. Cinderella and Prince Charming are there. Suzy and Perla the mice make their rounds, too.
We've always had great character interaction here.

We were also there on the 7th...this is our favorite dinner buffet at WDW. A wonderful variety of food and very delicious! We also think the character interaction is good...not nearly as rushed as the other princess meals. Perla and Suzy actually sat down on the floor with our 18 month old and Cinderella was very, very sweet. Hope this helps.

Amy :)

We were ther 10/6. This was one of the only great dining experiences of our 8 day trip (and I love disney)!! The food was great--the characters were prompt and friendly-and our server was attentive!!

We were there 9/28 - our first character dinner with dd (3). We loved it! Food was great and Cindy and Prince Charming were just lovely. DD was scared of the mice so they waved to her from across the room. Fairy Godmother was in the lobby. Definitely a good time in a beautiful restaurant.

We really liked this dinner. The mice came to our table 3 times. Prince Charming 2 times. Had to tell him "Hey you were already here" smiled and said to my little Cindy "I know a girl who looks just like you!" and said good bye. My husband raved about he food here. Maybe after 8 days of CS he was just so hungry for good food. I loved the food too. So did my girls.

We were there on Oct 7 also. 7pm dinner. We thought the food was really good...the shrimp pasta was awesome. It was crowded and the characters only made it by our table one time each and we had to wait after we finished our dinner for Prince Charming to get to our table. Our waiter was just so-so. But it's a beautiful restaurant and the food was good and my Cinderella got to see Cinderella so that is what matters. I would book it again.

Thanks for your replies everyone! I do have one question though. My kids are 16 and 13. Would they enjoy this character experience or is more geared towards younger kids?

My husband and I went there on 9/26 as our first character meal- no kids. We thought the food was good. The characters were nice. However, the noise in that room bounces off the walls. It was so loud. My husband told me that I was lucky the food was good, because he was miserable. We had the character breakfast at Ohana and loved it. We also had the princess dinner at Norway, which was enjoyable. I realize that I sound like a huge geek- a 25 year old going to character meals with no kids!

As far as the age of the kids, I guess it depends on the kids. My DS11 loved it because he's always wanted to eat at the GF and my DD7 told Prince Charming he was "dreamy" (you should see the pink cheeks and cheesy moony smile in the pics of her with Prince Charming...hee hee). There were two teen girls at the table next to me and they were thrilled to be there and seemed to have a great time. We really enjoyed the food and I'd say it has a more upscale, but not snobbish feel. Our server was wonderful, so sweet and gracious and not only allowed but suggested specialty drinks with lighted cubes on our free dining plan. We would definitely do this meal again.

DH and I will be dining here sans kids next week. The characters are fun, but we just have to try this buffet after all the great reviews.

We went to 1900 Park Fare on 10/4. I thought it was just ok. Yes, it is very noisy and hectic. Cinderella came over to our table twice, she was great. Prince Charming just wasn't "into it" that night. You could clearly tell. Out of all the restaurants we ate at, we liked this the least. Other restaurants were: Chef Mickey, O'Hana, Le Cellier and CRT.
