So DH and I have gone back and forth about whether or not we should go to wdw this May. We said we were going to skip a year, but in the end, we want to go again this May! We are going to suprise my dd4 with the trip, and I know she will be so happy!! She tells me all the time how sad she is that we have to wait such a long time before going back! Anyway, I really wanted to take her to BBB, followed by breakfast at CRT. Well, the only time I can get into BBB at MK is after 2, and I don't want to drop all that money for her to wear her dress for a half day. So.... I got at BBB appointment at 9am at DTD on a Monday. (Mid May) I figure we can go to MK shortly afterwards, and spend the day. Since we did the CRT last year, I decided that we would try 1900 Park Fair at GF. So its DTD for BBB, off to MK, hop on the monorail for dinner. (we have our car so transportation isn't a problem. Please tell me about Park Fair, or should I spring the 150 bucks and do a lunch at CRT?

I honnestly liked 1900 PF dinner much better then CRT. it's a buffet and the food was good. The interaction between the caracters was better too. We got to see them all at least twice last October. If you want to see Cinderella, the Prince, Lady Tremaine and the step-sisters, you will have to book dinner. In the morning you will likely see The Mad Hatter, Winnie the Pooh, Mary Poppins, Alice in Wonderland.

I booked an early dinner. I figure we can stop by and see the princesses that day in MK when she is all dressed up. The lunch and dinner menu at CRT didn't really appeal to me. Plus, I have never seen the step-sisters in all my trips to Disney! We will do a CRT breakfast on our next trip.

Last October we did both. First my 5 yr old DS & I had lunch at CRT. The food was really good. After all the so so reviews I sat there amazed at how good my lunch was. I had a beef dish with veggies on mashed potatoes - so yummy! The character interaction was good and bad. Downstairs we were alone in the room with Cinderella and she spent some time talking to my young son who was in love with her. That was wonderful. Upstairs the princesses came through very quickly. My DS wanted more time with sleeping beauty, saw that pink dress and forgot all about Cinderella :rotfl: We were the last table seated at lunch so our waiter was attentive and the restaurant was not very crowded since people were already leaving.

1900 Park Fare we had dinner at later that week with me, DH, DS8, DS5 and my mom. Here the food was plentiful but just so so. I actually had a hard time finding much I wanted to even try, but still left full. No complaints from my family. The characters here were a lot of fun. My 5 yr old son declared Anastasia a princess because she was in pink. He even danced with her. He left sporting a big lipstick kiss on his cheek from Cinderella. The restaurant was absolutely packed and total chaos at times. We were seated near the door so every time a new table was seated they all had to climb by us.

We did both also and loved each for different reasons. I don't think you can go wrong with either choice.

Have a great trip!

We've done both & prefer 1900 Park Fare all the way! We did dinner at CRT, so we had the fairy godmother instead of Cinderella, but still for the price 1900 Park Fare is the best....my daughter, now 8, requested to do Park Fare the past 2 times we've been to DW....she's never asked to go back to CRT & my little boy, 5, loves all the attention he seems to get at Park Fare, he's a magnet for the stepsisters every time! lol

We ate dinner at CRT in November 2009 and dinner at 1900 Fare in November 2010. I very much enjoyed eating in the Castle. The atmosphere was magical, the character interaction (at the time was the fairy godmother and mice) was entertaining, and the food to me was delicious. I was expecting it not to be so good based on some reviews that i read, but I really really enjoyed it. The only drawbacks would be that it is expensive and the kids menu was a little limited for 9 year old children (at the time). We decided to try 1900 fare last year. And, as much as i love the Grand Floridian, i was so dissapointed in the meal especially for the price. We were seated in the side room which was very crowded, the characters were plentiful but the food to me was barely edible and the selection was small compared to other buffets like Chef Mickey's, Cystal Palace, Boma, etc. Out of the 4 of us, my husband was the only one that ate a significant amount. I know so much depends on personal preference. I would have enjoyed the experience a little more if we had been seated in the main room but I would choose CRT, Askerus, Crystal Palace, Chef Mickey's or Boma over it again any day. I am curious to know how the breakfast buffet at 1900 fare compares to the dinner buffet at 1900 fare or to Crystal Palace Breakfast Buffet.

1900 buffet is good but don't expect it to be as "magical" as the castle. It is more loud and crowded than CRT too.
Have you gone to Akersus at Epcot? It would be nice to get her pix with Belle after going to the BBB IMO.
