hi we are bringing our 19 month old little boy who is a real handful along with our older son and teenager it will be our 3rd trip.I am really nervous about the flight 9hrs and i'm worried about him sleeping in a different cot and room which hes never done before and at the airport we are in the same room. the time difference is a lot as well so we'll probably be up and ready for the day about 2am! If anyone has any tips or encouragement which would help a very stressed mum that would be fantastic thank you

wow that sounds tough. What time does your flight leave? When are you leaving? If you have a while before you go I would suggest getting him used to taking a nap in a porta crib. You could try a couple of nights before leaving. I would definetly have some toys and maybe a movie for him to watch on the plane.I would suggest not walking the aisle of the plane even once.Once he knows he can get up there will be no keeping him down. If you get a stroller at the parks he should nap there and hopefully sleep ok.

We have never dealt with changing time zones... But as for sleeping away from home my kids always "crashed" they were so busy they would fall asleep when exhausted.

We took our dd for her 2nd birthday. She fell asleep just after take off, 2.5 hr flight and woke as we were putting her in the car in Orlando. Never woke on he walk out of the airport. But the. She cried she wanted to go home for about 20 mins. Thought we were doomed. But she never cried after... Begged to ride dumbo (50 min wait) and fell asleep as we were next in line to ride. Lol, she rode completely passed out and we took tons of photos to prove it! Bed time she either passed out in the car and we put her to bed or we laid with her until she fell asleep and moved her to the crib.

thanks for the advice and experience. we have 3 hrs before flight so he'll be quite tired when we get on plane wasnt sure whether to try the porta crib as thought it may confuse him if its in his bedroom we have 4 nights before we leave so not long now.i'm hoping he'll be very tired at the end of the days out because he has loads of energy and will go all day long he'll love it all,we're taking the buggy and he will nap in there.just trying not to worry and look forward to it
