We are going to DW Feb. 5-11. :cool1: What do you do with your little ones while waiting in line. I am not too worried about my 5 year old, but I am about my 19 month DS. I read that you have to park your stroller before getting in line. He can walk or can be carried but I was just wondering what other DIsers have done. I want him to enjoy the rides that he's able to ride. Hopefully lines won't be that long.
Thanks in advance for any tips or secrets.

Bring some bubbles. We read this and thought it was a great idea. Just pick up those really small ones they use at weddings, and keep it in your pocket to pull out. They sell them at craft shops and some dollar stores. And make up a small snack zip lock bag of a favourite treat you can also stuff in another pocket, so you don't have to get out of line to go back to the stroller. Good luck.

Bubbles are not good in line. They get on other people, who may have allergies to the ingredients (my daughter is one of them). We can avoid bubbles while walking in the parks, but we can't avoid them in the line, without knocking people over.

Use Fastpass as much as possible, go to the parks early to avoid longer lines, bring a few simple toys to play with, etc.

Good point. I read kg66's message and thought it was a good idea -- I even broke out a bottle of bubbles we use to play with the cat, for our upcoming trip to WDW. However, you're right... there's no way to avoid disturbing other guests that way. Oh well -- at least the cat's stash of bubbles is safe now.

I'm not sure how much your DS weighs but maybe he would do well in a hip hammock? I think the weight limit is 35 lbs. It is easier than holding him the whole time and works nicely for those that like to be held alot. Ours is pretty comfortable, but DS is only 22 lbs. They are fairly easy to get on and off. Good luck!

When I was young and had to wait in long lines with my parents They just kept me busy. Played games in line like "I Spy" Or they'd tell jokes. If your carrying your ds rock him a round a bit maybe do the popcorn. laugh and play around. Then not only will the time pass for your ds but it'll pass quickly for you as well all the while having fun with your kids

Hey....we are going Feb 4-10th and my youngest will have just turned 19mos. We planned our trip for then just b/c the crowd level will be low. We also have the hip hammock and plan on using it for waits. Giving little snacks have worked in the past. The key to a happy toddler IMO is not hungry, not tired, not hot and not asked to over do it. Kids usually behave pretty well with so much to see and do. Have a magical trip! :wizard:
