Yep. After 6 months of breastfeeding the mother passes them on to another, older child. They call them "buddies". The buddy is responsible for teaching the child, feeding them, cleaning them. The child is basically attached at the hip doing everything a mother would do for the child.

For craps sake, the children have "jurisdictions". They clean for the family, they cook for the family, they do the families laundry and grocery shopping, etc. The parents are basically "Big Brother", just there to oversee your work. All they do is have sex to have another child.

It angers me!


BTW, the believe in the Quiverfull Movement. Google that one, it's interesting to say the least. Quiverfulls don't believe in adoption, that it is unpure blood. They also don't believe in Cabbage Patch Dolls, why, I don't know.

Quiverfull movement? Sounds like a cult.

I wonder what will happen if one of their kids are unable to have children of their own. Will their stance on adoption change then?

These people are disgusting. How can they publicly say that they are passing off each kid to another sibling ang get away with that?

What the HECK!! I can't believe how incredibly stupid these people are.

They should just sterilize her or her husband.

I don't understand what they're teaching those kids by just passing them off to the older ones. They're just kids; they could babysit but do they really have to take care of them at all times? That's just ridiculously unfair. One of them wants to be a Quiverfull mom too.

18 babies = 16 pregnancies (2 sets of twins) X 9 = 144 months pregnant. INSANE! I hope she gives it up soon.

I'm not sure it they celebrate Christmas like most of us do (presents, and trees, etc) but if they do, I'm guessing most of their gifts are donated. Just like their house, furniture, and pretty much everything else. They also get discounts on pretty much everything they buy.

I have mixed feelings about this family. While it seems that they are a well rounded happy family, I feel bad for those kids. I mean the oldest kids spend their lives being a mother to a younger child.

i'm adopted.

and my blood may be "unpure" (cue vomit smilie face here) but at least my adoptive parents love me and don't pass me off to another child to care for me.
or since i'm seventeen, i guess i'd be caring for one of their children because they're too busy knocking boots trying to get pregnant again to give a baby its bottle.

The thing that does bug me about these people is the fact that they made there house a church to get out of taxes, and the fact that they pawn off the youngest to the older kids. Also there kids aren’t allowed to watch much T.V. yet they have there own T.V. show? That’s just a little hypocritical.

So in short the family just bugs me, not the fact that they have so many kids.

I just think that the whole thing with the buddy is a bit unfair, i mean yes it is best to get on with your brothers and sisters but i mean after 6 months they get passed on to a buddy thats just pretty unfair on whoever has to look after it. I think personally that the mother and father should firstly look after the children for more than 6 months and secondly if they couldn't look after them all and kept handing each new baby to a buddy then surely they shouldn'y have that many.

However, they obviously love children, i mean they must to have had 18 of the XD

People had many kids back then because they expected them to die of diseases. Today, we have proper medical care to prevent these diseases. I see no reason for 15+ kids unless you are running a farm, and the Duggars are not.

They have there own tv show which is on every monday night at 10:00pm
They have new episodes every week
But they wont even let there kids watch tv
At least Matt and Amy and John and Kate let there kids watch tv
Compared to the Duggars dont
I dont really get there thinking...
