Yes when you know it's logical, but people think in years.Ok, I get it now, "1820". Interesting, good idea on their part to create this society.
Well, while the naming of the group is new, the group has always been on the DCL ships. Started out as the College Social Hour. But then, when 18 year olds were permanently out of Vibe, it became the 18-21 club (no real name). The newest incarnation seems to address the (perceived) problem of the 21 year olds being able to order alcohol, while the others in the group couldn't drink alcohol.Ok, I get it now, "1820". Interesting, good idea on their part to create this society.
Yes.Does that make sense?
I will say I am 27, but in January I hung out with that age group on the Dream, I had met a few on Facebook before and they said I could hang with them. And I'm not one of the ones who would give people drinks lol, I'm too much of a rule follower to do that We were in the club most of the nights so even if I didn't hang with them I would have seen them each night
I don't think it's a bad thing for you to hang out with the 18*21s. After Vibe it's kind of a no-man's land out there. I don't fault anyone for my son's tequila experience. He's a big boy. He definitely learned the hard way (as most adults seem to...I know I did). I can't say if that person knew he was not 21 yet (he's a big guy) or what the deal was. I just know that there were older people than 21 in that group. They met up every night in the clubs and had a great time. That last night I don't even know what my son was thinking. I took it a lot more in-stride than I ever thought I would.
There are all sorts of "spaces" onboard where they can meet up. They can pretty much go anywhere on the ship. Lots of spaces to "meet and mingle".They need a dedicated 1820 space on their ships (even if it is smaller than the other clubs). Lot's of 18-20 year olds still want to belong and have a easy place to meet and mingle with others.
Meeting and mingling is exactly what the 1820 Society is for. Even if there isn’t a dedicated space, the group can hang together in the adult areas (or in the all-ages areas). On my recent Magic cruise, people in the 18-20 age range gathered in the afternoon at Signals (near Cove Cafe and the adult pool) and in the evening at Fathoms, even if there weren’t scheduled activities. They need a dedicated 1820 space on their ships (even if it is smaller than the other clubs). Lot's of 18-20 year olds still want to belong and have a easy place to meet and mingle with others.
