180 days out online vs by phone

So i don't know if anyone has TESTED this, but if there's anywhere someone has it's here.

So the limit is 180 days. And we know that Disney Dining is open in the morning 180 days out. But what about online bookings? Can you book at the 180 day mark as of MIDNIGHT?

This would actually be NOT beneficial for us, not because I'm not willing to be on my PC at 12:00am, I totally am. But the online system allows for a max of 14, and we will be 19... So I gotta talk to a person in group dining.

I asked the CM when we booked our stay about this ..... He told me we could do it when the system turns over, which occurs in 'the middle of the night' EST - most likely between 3-4 a.m. Never tested it though.... I just called at 7 and got all we wanted

Yesterday on a different thread about Be Our Guest, someone was asking about if they should make advanced ADRs. I responded that I'm sure they should do them as far out as possible and just for fun, I went to the reservation site and did a search 180 days out from yesterday... if was all booked up!!!!! This scares me to death especially since we're a pretty huge group.

I'll be on the phone at 7:00:00 at the 180 day mark, that's for sure.

I have been testing the 180 day for about a week. BOG has shown no availability every time due to the ability of people being able to book the 180 + 10. On 5/7 I will be online at 6 am attempting to book BOG using the 180 +10 with the old site as I have read there seems to be an issue with the new site and the 180 +10. If I have no luck I will certainly be calling at 7am.

I am scared too, and I am just booking a party of 2 .

I read on the BOG thread, that there are not many 2 seat tables, if you have trouble, book for 3.

What are your chances of getting all you reservations on the phone compared to the computer? I do not have a computer at home and would have to come to work at 5:00 in the morning... BUT if that is what I have to do I will do it.....

Just as good, if not better! I have been calling in my ADR's for years and will keep doing so because I just don't trust the online system. Every day I read stories about problems, tips and hints to get the site to work.. it shouldn't be a project to navigate the online site, it should just work! I have never had any problems getting any ADR I wanted over the phone if I call on my 180 day mark. If you call after that, you may have a bit of a problem and may have to keep checking.

My sister just did her ADR's on her 180 day on Tuesday when the systems were down most of the day and when they finally opened back up, she got every single ADR for the times she wanted each one! Even a 6pm BOG ressie!

I make my ADR's next friday so I am hoping for the same kind of luck! Good luck, I am sure you will be fine!

Thank you. I was worried about BOG cause what I was hearing on these forums.. Hope we both get what we want, I dont make mine till June 11... Hope you have a wonderful vacation....

BOG guest is the hardest for sure. At my 180 day point I was able to get our family of 5 in at 6:40 on what was our date choice at 180+3. 2 days later, my parents told us they wanted to join us for our trip. So, I called at 7am the next morning. I was able to add my parents to all of our reservations EXCEPT BOG. I asked the CM to check any other day on our trip for a party of 7 and there was nothing left, with 180+ 4 to go. Curiously however, we have friends who have been able to walk up and get in on several occasions so there is a thought that they do hold back some tables for walk ups and late bookers. I have no idea whether or not this is true, but I do have several friends who have tested this method and succeeded. I keep checking each morning to see if there have been changes because as it turns out our ADR is for a night that will have MNSSHP and I know we will get tossed right after dinner if we don't have party tickets .... Which will be tough for the kids, so we are debating whether or not to buy party tickets on an earlier night - figure we won't even be done dinner until 8 and by then the character lines will be looooooong............
