How does everyone else feel about it???

If you can't find the announcement, it's on the DISboards main page that links to here: http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/dining.htm

It also mentions park hours will be released 180 days in advance also and it does say that 180 days will begin on October 27, 2009 so...

... if your check-in date is currently on January 24, 2010 or earlier, you can begin to make ADRs on October 26, 2009 and earlier- for whatever the 90 day mark is for your vacation.
... if your check-in date is currently between January 25, 2010 and April 25, 2010 you can begin to make ADRs on October 27, 2009.
... if your check-in date is currently on April 26, 2010 or later you will be able to make ADRs at 180 days from your check-in date.

Here's a link to a calculator to help you figure out when your 90 day or 180 day mark is:

Yayyyyyyyy!!!

This is an Obsessive Disney Planner's dream come true! I'm so excited... I'm going to be able to book ADRs for my January trip in October AND ADRs for my April trip... in October!

I am just as excited as you are! :cool1:

We are usually booked a year in advance and start planning once we get home from a trip, so we are thrilled, esp. with theme park hours up 180 days in advance as well! :goodvibes

I don't usually have the luxury of planning trips 6 months out so the 180 window is useless for me. 90 days made much more sense. Unless they hold back some seats for say 120, 90, etc. this is a bad deal for me.

If you take advantage of the Free Dining you don't get 180 days ahead to book your trip (April announcement for Aug/Sep trips).

Don't see the consumer value in this move.

Where did you get the 180 day info...has Disney put out an official word yet?

I've done free dining for the past 2 trips and again in 2009. If you're concerned about it for next year, you can always book bouceback during your CBR trip :thumbsup2 You don't HAVE to have set dates. You can book Sept 1-7 (for example) then say in Feb you decide on your exact dates, you can just move them around before FD is released to the general public...

Ok, thanks. I asked because I couldn't understand why the other 2 thread's (discussing adr's going back to 180 days) were recently closed. Thought maybe it was because nothing was official but the Disboard main page DEF shows the announcement! :)

You're welcome.

That's what I saw also... my mom said she saw it on AllEars this evening so maybe they JUST put it up on the main page later tonight and it had been classified as a rumor until they put it up on the main page? IDK, I hope this thread doesn't get closed.

I think 180 is silly, just my opinion. I happened to be awake and home at 90 days so I called at 7am. I like to get our slots, but not going to focus my day or stress about getting the ressies. I made mine this time in less than 15 minutes and haven't changed one. I added one about a month ago when our flight plans were firmed up. Seems many book these ADRs far in advance then stress about them and change them left and right for the next 5 months. I just can't be bothered...lol. There are lots of good places to spend TS credits at WDW.

I've made ADRS 4 times for WDW never as far out as 180 days. Always happy with what we've gotten. I can't see my behavior changing much.

Guess its back to the offsite dining for DW and I. 180 days imo is too long in advance to worry about where im gonna eat somewhere. Glad it made some of you guys happy though.

We are really excited about this news because we already have our trip booked for April / May next year and have chosen the places where we definitely want to eat too :rotfl:

Can anyone answer a couple of questions?

Since we are staying onsite will we be able to book any earlier (previously it was 10 days before the regular 90 days)

I know the ADR telephone line opens at 7am but from what time can you book online?

We are staying for 3 weeks, will we be able to book ADRs for our entire trip or will we have to call each day when we reach the 180 day mark for that particular day?

Many thanks for any advice :worship:

I don't care either way 180 or 90. I always have stuff planned even before park hours come out :lmao: Though it is exciting to know we have 6 months to play around with our ADRs for May.

Yay for onsite! Well it still currently is in, but will be switching from, the 90+10 format. This doesn't mean 100 days, it's on the 90th day from your check-in date, plus 10 days of your vacation so when it goes back to 180 days, it won't be 190 days, it'll be 180+10. For example, my check in date is Sept 18 and the 90th day from that was June 20th, on June 20 I was able to book ADRs for Sept 18+ 10 days... so until Sept 28. It will just be 180 days later on...

Currently, 6AM.

Currently, (in using the 90 day mark and my check in date as an example) on June 20th I was able to book until Sept 28, the 28th being my 11 day or my +10 day. Since I am staying 2 weeks, I wasn't able to book for my entire vacation. So on June 21st, I was able to book for Sept 29... June 22nd for Sept 30... and so on

Hope that helps :goodvibes

ETA: I say currently because it seems like they are doing a lot with the ADR system so idk if things will change or not.

That's really helpful, thanks :thumbsup2

This is very, very cool news. I hated the 90 day window this past trip. We usually plan our vacations at least 8-9 months out, and being able to make ADR's at the 180 marker worked great! We were always able to get exactly what we wanted, when we wanted. :thumbsup2

It still doesn't come up for November to book online, do we need to call??

BArb

They aren't switching over to 180 days until Oct 27th. You can still book November at your regular 90 day mark. I think they are currently taking ADR's up to Nov. 10th. :goodvibes

This year was our first trip with ADRs.
We booked at 90 days out (very easy, got everything we requested), then when our trip arrived, we ended up cancelling at least half as the week went on because we felt like going with the flow rather than adjusting our schedule for specific food choices.
My hubbie thought 90 days out was obsessive planning!

The 90 days hasn't been that bad, but I'm glad they are going back to 180. I liked it way better, and missed it.
