180 Day ADRs and Park Hours!

Ah, got it. The 180 day would help get ADR's before the non-planners try to get ADR's. Okay, that's a good thing. My beef is still with Disney and posting emh hours.

Like I said, when is was the 180 window they had hours at 180. Of course they were sometimes spotty like they are with the 90, but no different than now.

i also prefer the 180 days. I am one of those obsessive planners. i think it would give the real planners a jump on everyone else maybe! :goodvibes

Totally Agree!!!;) This is where us Dissers can really have an advantage!:goodvibes

I would love to see the 180 ADRS come back! :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

I love the 180 days i never have trouble getting the Adr's that I want and I hardly ever book out my vacation that far.

This rumor has been going around for a few weeks now. I posted it on FB actually.

I 100% would like it to go back to 180 days IF the park hours and EMH schedule come with it. As Don said, this was the case before the 90 day policy switch. If they go back to how things used to be, I'm a happy camper. However, if they make it 180 days for ADRs without the hours and schedule out, I'll be fuming.

You and me both. I think the change is due to the scathing email I sent them last week. ;)

I like 180 days. I don't know why they changed it to begin with. I like to plan, and it gives me extra time, especially over those that don't plan as much.

Stop kissing up, I already like you!

Hmmm, how I feel? I feel I wish they would make up their minds...... that's how I feel.

180 days, 90 days, I don't care. My only problem is they should have park hours out at least a week before the ADR window opens!

I feel much better now, thank you!
:goodvibes

You know better at 30 days than at 180 what you want to eat any given day? I don't get how 180 or 90 makes a difference in "I don't know what I want to eat that day"?

Nope. As I said, even 30 says is tough but I know that if I don't do it,I'll get nothing.

We do 12-15 trips a year to various places around the world, so planning anything 180 days out is tough (even the vacation). 90 is more like it. Of course, with DVC that's going to have to change for the Disney trips, so I might as well embrace the advance planning for the trip and the ADRs.

Just tell myself "you're going to eat Japanese food on Saturday,6 months from now...and you're going to like it!" :)

Really, it's not the food choices- we have a bunch of things we like and can decide that in advance. It's more the "Well, we have to be here at this restaurant (and hungry) on Saturday, 6 months from now, at 7:20. I just don't plan that way...but, like I said above, I'm just gonna have to get used to it.

Cheers.

Won't help me for this trip, but thank goodness they went back to 180 days. For planners like me, this makes me happy. Last year was so much easier to plan.

I think 90 day sis better. How awkward to have to plan six months out!

Funny... i think most DISers will disagree with you... Especially the ones on the DVC board...

Personally, I AM THRILLED we are back to 180 days... hopefully will make it a lot easier to get what I want.

I am kind of ambivalent about the change myself (DVC member and not a slave to park hours :) ). Although it might be an indication that they are happy with forward attendance predictions, I frankly think there must be some advantage to Disney to having it at 180 days.

One thing I did think of...Disney Resort Guests staying between roughly Jan 26th to April 15th, 2010 lose their +10 advantage...

I like 60-90 days. I don't know how you can figure out what you will be doing 6 months in advance. I liked it when you didn't have to stress over park hours and dining reservations.

I'm excited to see this, especially since park hours will be announced then too! Our trips are usually planned pretty far in advance as well. :thumbsup2

As it has been stated, the thing I care about is if the park hours are released at the same time. Watch it will be ADR's at 180 days but park hours not till 90. :headache: :lmao:

One thing to think about is the massive problems they will have on the day they do go back to this. Everyone that is 90 - 180 days out will be trying to make reservations. We all know how well Disney deals with changes to the systems like that and how they crash. I feel sorry for anyone that is due to call that day.....:surfweb:

Well, the solution to that is to do it online.

Oh, wait, I forgot...it's a Disney web site. It will be down as well. :)

this is great news but doesn't help me at all. My 90 day mark is in 19 days and I still don't have December hours to plan my ADRs. Get off your butt disney and give us some hours. this is why I like 180 days out. Because at least you can plan your days if the hours are out.
