180 Day ADRs and Park Hours!

I like the 180 days for planning.

But we are freaks when it comes to planning. That is all of us on the boards, people, not just me. :lmao:

You know who you are. :rotfl2:

Well, it is official that park hours will be out 180 days ahead of time. THANK GOD! It's about time they got their act together and changed things back to normal. I truly think that this was due to the new ADR system and their incompetent IT department. Although I've suffered through planning two trips with this ridiculousness, I can't wait to have the ease of doing the next one with the old 180 day window. Yup, I'm a happy camper. :)

I like 60-90 days. I don't know how you can figure out what you will be doing 6 months in advance. I liked it when you didn't have to stress over park hours and dining reservations.

I agree with you Kathy. But then again, I don't utilize ADR's like the over-planners here do. ;)

Jorge, when traveling with 3 kids we don't often have a choice. We do leave a day or two open, but the meals usually entail burgers and fries those days.

Yes. I am so happy that they are going to put it back to 180 days. Now that means we can make reservations 90 days sooner (or 3 months).

::yes::

I usually look at the hours and see what park works best that day. Then try to decide what restaurants we haven't eaten at before or really enjoyed before and make an ADR for there. I'm not that pickey of an eater and neither is the rest of the family, so deciding that far in advance isn't a big deal. Plus it gives me something to look forward to (new restaurants are fun to try).

I'm just glad the change is not happening around our vacation. We book ADRs 90 days out in Sept. and when we book next years vacation for Oct., we will be able to do 180 days out in April. I would hate to be in the middle of all the chaos and confusion during the transitional 3 months. After waiting all that time for your 90 day mark and then to find out you have to battle with 3 months worth of guests for your ADRs is not an ideal situation for me.

For those that are stuck in the middle of it. You have my most sincere sympathy. I hope it all works out.

Well, Kathy not ALL of us live in Orlando now :-P

I'm sorry, but since the start of the dining plan it has become harder and harder to get ADRs the closer it is to your trip and during free dining, it becomes even harder. I remember even the first year of the dining plan, we were able to get decent reservations at most places, but try that now and its harder... although it DOES sound as if there may be some computer issues as Corey pointed out on the podcast with his little filled Le Cellier walkup. So maybe its an IT problem.
