Hi,
This is my first time planning a trip to disney (with kids with ADR's) and we are going in November. Last time we were there was in 2002 and I don't think we made any advanced reservations and had no problem.

So I thought I was very well versed on this and called as soon as I could (180+5 I think because we are staying 5 nights) and several restaurants on my wish list, most notably BOG, were already booked up.

So I guess my question is this: Do people hold a hotel reservation for the full 10 days just so they can get their dining reservations and then change the hotel reservation? Or do that many people really stay for 10 days?

Obviously, there is nothing I can do about it at this point, but I'm curious for the future.

Thanks :)

Some ADRs are very hard to get (BOG being one of them), whether you try to book right at 180 days or not. With that said, if there are some ADRs you couldn't get, keep trying as people do cancel and something might become available for the day(s) you need. While some people only stay a few days, there are people who stay for 10 or more days and make ADRs for every day of their trip. Good luck and I hope you are able to get what you want :goodvibes.

well to clarify a bit; you can book your ADRs on your 180 days from check-in date. the 180 +10 means that at your 180 day mark you can book your ADRs for the first 10 days of our trip. this simply lets you book your entire trip (as long as it's 10 days or shorter) as soon as your first day hits the 180 day mark.

the problem is that there are certain restaurants that fill very quickly and depending on your dates of travel might be overwhelmingly popular and almost impossible to get after the first day.

so with a november trip you called back in May? i ask because the ADR website booking begins an hour before the phone lines open in the morning. so by calling you are already an hour behind the others.

the other issue may be that Disney doesn't release the entire bank of seats at one time, but may release the bulk of them at 180 days a smaller banks of seats over the next 7-10 days. i have had no luck on the first day only to have a table available over the next few days in some cases. Disney may do this so guests won't experience a situation where everything is booked before they even have the chance to their dining ADRs.

I don't think people do that (at least not many). There are very few ADRs that are so hard to get.

That said, we are also going in Nov for 11 nights and I booked BOG for my desired day, which was 7 days into the trip.

Are you only able to book an ADR 180+10 for the number of people on your resort reservation? We want to do BOG dinner for my DD's Sweet 16 and not everyone will be staying on site. If I have a resort reservation for 4 people, am I able to make an ADR for 10 people during the 180+10 window for the 7th day of our stay or only for 4 people?
