Longtime lurker, first-time poster. My family and I will be checking in to POR on May 3rd. We would like to make an ADR for CRT sometime during our trip. We booked through Boscov's Travel Agency, which provides charter flights to WDW. We've done this two years in a row, and each previous year, we've been given a reservation # for our trip, which I used to make ADRs under the 180+10 rule. This time, our travel agent said Boscov's isn't giving out reservation #s until 2-3 weeks prior to the trip. He said we should tell Disney Dining that we are booked under "Boscov's Group Space" in lieu of the reservation #. I called Disney Dining today and the first person I talked to said I definitely needed a reservation # to make 180+10 ADRs. She transferred me to Reservations to see if they could find a reservation # for me. That person told me she can make ADRs, too, and she would not need a # to do that. Tomorrow is 180 days from check-in, so I suppose I'll call and see what happens - I guess calling 180 days before the exact date we want to go to CRT will be the back-up plan. Has anyone been able to make 180+10 ADRs without a reservation #? Thanks!

No res number= no 180+10. Boscovs means absolutely NOTHING to disney reservations.

I agree with the above poster, they are not going to let you do the 180+10 reservations without an actual Disney reservation number, or at least they shouldn't, because then anyone could call and say that and make the +10 reservations - which is supposed to be a perk for on-site guests. This is one of the reasons I don't us TAs for our Disney Vactions - Hawaii or Europe, yes. Disney, no way. I need to "own" my reservation so I can make sure ADRs and any discount codes are taken care of.

As long as you call in 180 days from the day that you want to have your CRT ressie, you should be able to do it without a ressie #. Anyone, even non Disney resort guests, can make dining reservations 180 days out for CRT at present. You can't make your other dining reservations just yet due to the reservation system update, so the +10 wouldn't factor in anyway unless tomorrow is 180 days from the first day of your trip and you wanted CRT sometime during your trip. I hope that makes sense.

Not the case. Anyone can eat and make ADR 180 days out. Case & point: I flew down to visit friends in Tampa, we commuted to WDW for a day and made ADR at CRT and BBB at the MAgic Kingdom for a birthday. We did have to pay for our meal in advance, but we were able to make a dining reservation. We did not have a WDW resort reservation number. Case & point: I also made ADR reservations before before I made my room reservation. I could not decide where to stay and was waiting for a bonus ar work. I made the ADR, a few with deposits and a few paid in advance. When I did make my package reservation with the dining plan, they credited my credit card. (my ressie's included resort restaurants, Epcot restaurants, HDDR, CRT, & Fantasmic package.) As long as you are not trying to make them more than 180 days, any one should be allowed too. As quickly as the restuarants fill up with ADR, it would be unfair of Disney make such a restriction that result in only resort guests could eat their restaurants.

I do agree with your point of not using a TA...It's a control thing. I want to be assured that all discounts are properly applied and my ADR are made. I don't trust a TA to do that.

Thats exactly what Tiffany was saying. Anyone can make ADR's at 180, you need a res number to verify youre staying on property for 180+10. Youre argreeing with her (arguing plus agreeing:])

Sorry, I did not mean to sound agrumentative but I guess I did. I was just trying to communicate that ADR is not a perk of on-site guests only the requirement is the 180 day window to make ADR. I did an aweful job of trying to say that! Commnication is unfortunately sometimes difficult on boards.

Princess Tiffany, my apologizies.

No problem. Noone said it was an onsite perk only though thats why I was confused. She said 180+10 is for onsite guests only which is why you need a res number to prove that

Actually, it is a moot point at this time.

Disney will begin implementing a new reservation system that combines dining, recreation and tour bookings.

The conversion started on July 21, 2008 and is expected to be functioning early December. While this is taking place, the latest dining reservation date which can be booked in advance is March 22, 2009. Once the new system is operating, it will revert to the 180 day Advance Dining Reservation window.

The exceptions to the shortened ADR booking window are Cinderella's Royal Table, Chef Mickey's and Victoria & Albert's.

Yes, it's a perk to onsite guests. All guests, regardless of staying onsite or offsite, can call 180 days prior to the day they want the ADR.

The perk for Disney resort guests is the convenience of not having to call every morning for the subsequent days they need. They can make ADRs for the remaining days, up to 10 days thereafter.

Thanks for the advice, everybody. We contacted our travel agency, and an agent was able to make an ADR for lunch at Cinderella's for us, so everything worked out anyway!
