I was lead to believe that for the pavilion, it's 12 months for a tentative date and then 8 months for contacts to be confirmed. Virgin have also said this to me.

I have the wedding pavilion and just booked 12 months out. The ceremony location doesn't determine how far ahead you can book, it's the reception location. Convention type reception locations can't be booked until 8 months out. As far as I know.

Yeah, I tried to book my wedding at SBP for November 9th 2007, and they told me I couldn't book it until November 1st, 2007. :guilty:

I think it depends on who you get on the phone. I know you can't officially book until the 12 or 8 month marks depending on your event, but when I called 15 months out when we got engaged, we were penciled in for the date we wanted. On the 12 month mark i got a call from our planner that we got our request.

that seems so unfair for the people that are told to come back at 12 months as the date could then have already been reserved in the meantime. Beginning to think this whole thing is a lottery!

Being penciled in for the date does not mean that it's reserved. Once it comes to the 12 month mark, if more than one person has requested a specific location and time, they have a lottery to decide who gets it. It doesn't matter how long before the one year mark they were penciled in for it.

I also wanted to add that I agree that it's all in who you talk to. I called just after we got engaged, and we were able to meet with a coordinator and pencil in a date 16 months out.

I was "penciled in" at 15 mos out. At 12 mos out, our SM contacted us and said since no one else wanted our date & location, we have it. However, we won't officially have it until 8 mos out b/c of conventions. Very confusing.

I would definitely give them a call Tuesday. If that person does not help you, keep calling! Good luck!
