#18 for the Dugger family!

im sorry, but...

im not worried about people being close, im not very self-concious at all, but i still need my space. i mean, seriously people, how would you like it if someone was puking in your room while you tried to sleep?

and...

why so many? my max is going to be 4, unless i have multiples. 18, what do you think their parents think,(michelle and jimbob)

and...
why the j's? after a while, you get into the bad names like jacob and jared(they make bad kids, behavior wise, sorry if ur name's jared or jacob) i would start going through the alphabet.

and...(last one)

they are getting to be too old to have anymore kids. girls are supposed to stop around 35, and men around 40 or 45. thier kids now have a higher chance of a mental problem.

im done.

Since when do names show your personality?

Actually, most pregnancies are high risk after #4. I doubt she's gonna stop any time soon. She probably figures 'I've carried enougn HR kids, what's another?'.

As far as that list, :sad2: .

Aww come on, we all know shes doing it to avoid her monthly *rolls eyes*

On the CB.

They are also very anti-Cabbage Patch doll. They believe the dolls cause 'strange and destructive behavior in children that could only be alleviated when the dolls were removed or destroyed.'

There's a whole list of things...let me get it.

...anti beards for men (unless they have a prior "religious conviction" about having them)
...anti short hair for women
...anti all contemporary music of any kind, including Christian
...anti adoption (when you adopt a child, they inherit generational curses from their birth parents and these must be researched, discovered, and specifically renounced).
...pro quiverful and pro reversal proceedures
...pro homeschooling (especially ATI)
...against girls having higher education
...anti-dating, pro courtship, parent-led
...believes that adult children are under the authority of their parents till married
...anti Cabbage Patch dolls
...circumcision is the biblical choice for parents of baby boys
...diseases have a spiritual root
...anti youth groups, and his followers are often against children in Sunday School
...extreme teachings regarding "eyetraps" (modesty),
...that divorce is unacceptable under any circumstances
...followers are called to "higher standards"

They follow the Bill Gothard organization.

:scared1: That is a scary list! I mean, anti-adoption and against girls having a higher education!? Diseases have a spiritual root? :sad2: And here I was thinking the world was improving and moving out of the dark ages.

:rotfl2: Niceeeee. Lol.

:scared1: That is a scary list! I mean, anti-abortion and against girls having a higher education!? Diseases have a spiritual root? :sad2: And here I was thinking the world was improving and moving out of the dark ages.

That wasn't on the list. And I'm against abortion too, but does that make me like this family? No.

Sorry, I meant adoption. I swear, my brain is melted from the IB finals.

Those swimsuits are hideous!!! OMG, terrible. And that list of do's and don'ts....outrageous!

I wouldn't survive in that family.

I only wonder what they think about families like mine... two kids.
OH THE HORROR!

For the mother, aren't you supposed to wait a while or your bladder falls out or something?
My mom's friend after *three* had to have bladder surgery. Because? I'm not sure. Too many birthings, I think.

Im glad, none of the kids have resolved to suicide.
:)

Yeah, and the BEASTIEST J name at that!

:O
Its my name too!!
How dare them!!

You know what they will be like "This is Jessica, and he little sister Jess, and this is her little brother Jessie"

xD

That IS in a perfect world of course....

That's your name too?!
It's a great name :]

OH. MY. GOD. I think I almost fell out of my chair when I read this.

Wanna know why so many of the kids sleep in the same room? It's to prevent any of them from having the idea to...touch themselves. :scared1:

They really have NO privacy at all. The only time they can get 15 minutes alone is when they are scheduled for the 'prayer closet'. They even have 2 toilets in the bathroom with no seperating wall...can you imagine? I feel so so sorry for those kids.

:scared1: :scared1:

Hahah.

They had one episode of their TV show where they had the children switch their 'jurisdictions' (chores) and the guys did the cooking, cleaning, while the girls fixed up the house. I don't know why those parents think it's okay for little girls to be handling power tools in a dress. :sad2:

UGH. They're so demeaning.

(OOPS, this is Babypiglet. My mom's name accidentily signed itself in.)

Sounds like punishment to me, heh.

I don't know enough about the Duggar family to be openly dissing/supporting their beliefs, but I feel like throwing my opinions into the mix after reading this thread.

I believe the parents are Christian, and I do know for a fact they read the Bible. This is where their belief system is coming from, as 'weird' or 'outlandish' their beliefs may be. This is coming from a modern American society that openly accepts other beliefs where most people recognize basic morals and beliefs of other religions.

By modern American standards, the Duggars choose to live their life in ways that seem primitive to us. These ways to them aren't neccessarily wrong, because this is the way they choose to live. It's just 'wrong' to us by modern standards.

Compared to a hundred years ago, large families were very common. I believe gender roles were fairly prevalent, too.

Their beliefs aren't completely primitive, but they're definately not modernized.

Playing Devil's Advocate here, I share the same views as most of the people on here. There are a few reasons why I believe the Duggars are primitive in their way of raising a family.

Haha, I feel their whole life is punishment.

They actually follow the principles behind the Bill Gothard organization. And while also following the bible, the main thing they turn to is this organization.

The org. has schools and programs that are up to their standards, they even have a college which is formed and approved. The kids can't go to regular college as it's thought of as a sin, I believe.

Punishment indeed.
If you read the thread on the CB, I feel like the majority there do.

Yeah. I'm going back and forth between these threads actually. It where I found out most the stuff I've been posting here.
