Hi
I have been quoted $175 one way for the limo to collect my guests and take them to the Caribbean beach following an Epcot reception.
I have been quoted the same to take Hubby and myself back to the Yacht Club.
I think this is a lot to pay for such a short ride home, especially as the Yacht club is probably only 5 to 10 mins walk away.
I have been told though that taxi's can not collect from inside Epcot, only at the main entrance, but I will have to take my wedding dress off if I walk to the main entrance. Bearing in mind my event will end at 2am, there won't be too many guests there at that time of the morning, but that is Disney policy (again!!)
Do I have to run with this or is there another way?

Have you considered town car service? For our wedding a one-way trip was $19 plus tax/tip. I’m sure prices have increased since then, but I’m sure it’s still much less than a limo. Of course, this would only work for you and your DH since the town cars wouldn’t hold all your guests. The town cars can pick up backstage at Epcot (ours did after our AAR reception).

When you rent the limo's you are renting them for a minimum amount of time (3 hours I think), no matter how short the ride you are taking is. If you can't swallow the cost, a one way town car like Elisabeth suggested will work well for you. Its MUCH cheaper, even if you have to get multiple towncars to transport everyone.

yea i say town car! that what we plan on using for our EPCOT reception. or we might just ride the charter buses back to the hotel with our families who will be staying there- it might be fun! I think the town car is around 20 something now for a one way.

This is the part I'm wondering about...why do you have to use the main entrance?

If you use the International Gateway, it would be a lovely walk from your reception to the Yacht Club. Or is the International Gateway not an option because you won't be leaving 'til 2am? :confused3

Maybe you can have a van or something waiting there to take your guests to their final destination.

definetly look into a towncar. were using mears on our own/side for the rehearsal dinner & for our wedding party the day of our wedding, its $15 each way plus tip. each towncar fits 4.

Our reception is at AA parlor, but my EM told us that taxi's cannot go backstage.
That limo was the only answer, unless we were prepared to take off our wedding attire and walk to the main entrance to catch a cab.

How do I go about ordering these towncars? do I need permisson from my EM to do this?

I am unhappy with my Disney wedding.
I am just 3 weeks from it now and still havne't set the dinner etc in stone.
I have had huge problems with them.

Way back in the oldin' days when I got married at Disney :) When we left illuminations to go back to WL we rented a sedan instead of the limo, directly from Disney. It was $40 or so back in 2002.

Janine I thought you had cancelled your Disney wedding as you'd had such problems and were now having a Swan wedding?

As far as I know you have to book the towncar with your co-ordinator.

Hope you get everything sorted soon.

Last year I was quoted $70 for a one-way transfer in a towncar. Much more reasonable, IMO.

DD(melmel) used a town car after her wedding dinner 12/6/05 at the Yachtsman Steakhouse to go back to Saratoga Springs. It cost $21 & was booked for her by her EM. This was an Intimate wedding & the Town car picked her up outside of the park, so I don't know if the policy is different if you're leaving from inside the park. I'd ask your EM what the policy is on town cars that are booked BY Disney.

I was in the process of cancelling, but they agreed to help me out, or so I thought.
They gave me some options, gave me some prices and off we went again....then they started to add the 'hidden charges' like $800 + because our event was going 2 hours over the usual 5 hour reception, and $300 for 2 limo's to go ten yards!
Nothin of this was mentioned when we booked the room.
So you never know it might still be off at this rate.
I am 8 days away from travelling to the US,and still at first base!
Disney have been an absolute nightmare to work with and I honestly wish I had never even heard of Disney!
I cannot believe how I used to adore Disney, and how I now despise the word.
I am sure things will work out on the day, but if Disney have made such a mess with my planning, how can I expect my day to work out ok????

Hi
Well the day itself was wonderful.
I had to pay the $450 for 2 limo's to take us home, they would just not deduct it at all.
I was furious.
We left at 11.30pm not the 1 or 2am like we said we 'might do'.
They said it was not possible for us to walk through the park back to our hotel, which was literally 5 mins walk from the AA to the Yacht Club.
Daft thing is though, after the park had shut they allowed us to go out into the park to take photo's, accompanied of course, but still I didn't see what the difference was????
They did not refund us any money as we finished earlier either.
They are very crafty, but also very good.
I would push as much as you can for a town car like others have done. Just make sure you book it in the earlier stages, as it seems they have you in their clutches when it draws near to the date.
