DH hasn't gotten heckled per se, but has received snide comments about the size of his car...

He has an Expedition and he gets comments like "your big car contributes to global warming", "gas waster", etc...

Nevermind that DH fills his car once a month because he doesn't drive much.

I would never have heckled you but I'd probably be thinking the same thing that that man said out loud. But I just don't get why people choose to drive gas guzzlers.

Because they do. Because they can. Because they get enjoyment out of driving a big car instead of a "crummy escort". Because they need plenty of room for their kids. Oh, but you wouldn't know about needing tons of room for kids, their friends, their car seats, their diaper bag, their extra change of clothes, their baseball bat and baseball mitt they need for practice this afternoon. I did not mean to imply that they are always an irresponsible choice. I was just pointing out that the poster assumes that the driver of the escort was poor and beneath her. At least that is how it came off.

Sometimes people chose the other avenue to, not because they have to but because they want to.
