Yes…you heard correctly. 17 years! I was just starting high school. When we were down there Little Mermaid was just being released to video…yes…VHS! Dick Tracy was in the theaters. This was exciting to me because this was back when DHS was ACTUALLY used as a movie studio and we got to see sets from the movie. I’m looking forward to seeing all the new additions to the parks.

So let me give the cast of characters: First of all there is me. Duh. Then there is my DW. This is her first trip to WDW. Shes VERY excited. Then there is my mom and dad. This is actually there third trip. The first time they were there was just after Epcot opened. As you can tell we don’t get to go very often. Because of and just because this is how my family is, we have crammed A LOT of activities for the two weeks we are down there. The 4 Disney parks. Both universal, Kennedy, Busch, BB and TL. Its going to be very VERY busy!

We leave tonight. Our plane leaves at 9:30 PST (we live in the Seattle area). The temperature here is 55 and its been raining. This isn’t the warm rain that last 30 mins like down there. This is a cold drizzle that last all day. We land in Atlanta 5 hours later with a 1 ½ hour layover. Then its off to Orlando. The first two nights we will be staying at ASM. Our first day is an easy relax day. DTD, Disney Quest, and lounging by the pool.

I’m going to be trying to keep up on the post. The whole group all have digital cameras so there will be no lack of pictures. So…until the next post… EchoThree OUT!!

This sounds like it will be a great trip!! TWO whole weeks I am so jealous! When We took our trip in 2004 it had been 10 years since I had been to WDW and my DH had never been. It was so great seeing the changes. I could not believe the amount of characters that we out. When I had gone with my Aunt and Uncle we hardly ever saw any characters. The last time I was at US there was only one park. We have been meaning to go but Disney just pulls us away. Maybe one day we will go there.

We lived in Silverdale, WA in the mid-90's. I loved the area but hated the cost of living there! I definately remember those dreary days of rain. I loved flying East from there though because I could sleep on the plane and be ready to go when I got to my destination.

I hope that ya'll have a safe trip and whave a wonderful time in FL!

I actually live in Bremerton! Small world!! Other then gas I havent really noticed a high cost of living. Of course i havent lived anyplace else so what do I know:confused3

We used to live in Silverdale too from 1991-1994 when my husband was stationed at Bremerton.

WOW-unlike BamaGirl we thought the cost of living was great there. We had a 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom new apartment, with cable and washer & dryer for $600 a month! We paid double that when we moved back to the Chicago suburbs. Now we have a house and pay a lot more :worried:

Looking forward to your trip report.

I am from a small town in the South and when we lived there my parents were paying $250 a month for a 3 bedroom house and we paid $550 for a 1 bedroom apartment! I guess it all depends on what you are used to. I looked a few months ago online a one apartment complex that we lived in and the rent for that 1 bedroom is now $890. That is still more than houses rent for where I live now. So like I said I guess it just depends on what you have to compare to.

I did love living there except being so far away from family. The view of the mountains every morning on my way to work always cheered me up.

Can't wait to see your reactions to all the changes in the last 17 years. Looking forward to hearing all about it.

Hey reelmom, it's a small world after all. We live in Franklin:)

It's funny how almost everyone here has found someplace in common:cool1:

Wow, 17 years, I had to visit twice in one year after my first visit. Can't wait to read more:hyper:

Today is the start of our 4th day. I apologize for not having updated the blog...but we haven’t had internet access until today. So...We landed in Orlando on Saturday. I didn’t get a BIT of sleep the whole trip. Remember that I woke up at 6am PST on Friday morning. It we 8 am ..Orlando time. We then went to the hotel. We stayed at ASM. After we dropped off our bags we hopped a bus To DD. Which was the first difference as this wasnt open 17 years ago..duh By the end of the day we were all hot and tired. I was feeling sick to my stomach from the lack of sleep and the heat.

The Next day was TL water park. This was REAL nice. We got to sleep in a little bit that day and just took our time there. The pool and water slides were a help too. Then after that we went to DHS. We had wanted to go to a Sci-Fi dine in. WE went up and they said there was no seting until 9:00! WE stood ther to figure out what to do instead. I went back in and the guy at the door said NOTHING was available but i was more then ok to go inside and ask. I asked the guy inside and he looked and said...oh...we have a table ready in about 5 mins!! WOOHOO!!!! After that we went over to watch Fantasmic. (We will be downloading pics pretty soon.) Before we did that we went on Tower of Terror. Which was AWESOME! After Fantasmic we were all pretty pooped so we went back to the hotel.

Monday we got to experience a couple of AWESOME things not many people get to do. First off we went to Epcot and took part in Dolphins In Depth. We learned about Dolphins and got to see them train them. WE all got pictures of this. But we don’t have a scanner so your all going to have to wait till we get home to see the pic. After this we left to go back to the hotel. While we were at the Dolphins my dad went back to the airport and got the rental car. We left the hotel and went to our condo which will be home base until we leave. On our way to the condo we stopped off and took a Helicopter Ride around the Disney Parks which was AWESOME!!! After we spent a few hours at the condo we went back to Epcot and had Dinner at the Canada Exhibit, and OH MY GOD those were the best steaks I have ever tasted. We left Epcot...and promptly got lost! WE didn’t get back to the Condo for over an hour. The trip should have only taken 10 mins!

So today Is our Princess Breakfast at Magic Kingdom. The forecast is For Thunder/Rainstorms so I’m expecting a slim crowd...or at least hope for one!
