17 days of Deluxe Dining With Two Adults, One Disney Adult, One Child, And A Platypus

we've found service to be slow at Kona (except for one lunch, where our server was fantastic). we do return for breakfast, because we do love (ok I love those macadamia pancakes) but we learn to get the bill sorted asap otherwise we can be waiting over 45 mins just to pay the bill.

Glad you enjoyed Tonys. I have been wanting to try it, so I made a reservation for October.

We must have had the same waitress at Kona. I was very disappointed with the service at Kona. Definitely the worst experience I had. The food was just ok to me.

Great review so far! I'm sorry that you didn't enjoy Kona. It's one of our favorite and it's a must do for us. Hopefully, it was an off night....

I'm sad to say that I agree Kona has gone downhill - for dinner anyway. It used to be one of our favorites, and I still go every trip for breakfast (love it and always have had great service), but I haven't really loved my last 3 or 4 dinners there, so I think it's off our list for awhile.

Thanks for all the reviews. You have made some of our choices easier and some harder for our up coming adventures! :lmao:

I hate when that happens, but really I thought you were to full to continue on:laughing:

Can't wait until you get some free time to post more reviews:banana:

Love the reviews!! Hope life settles down so we can get some more!! Keep up the good work!

Great reviews! I'm not sure how I didn't see them before now! Your kids are adorable, and it's nice to see they eat more then just pizza and chicken nuggets.

On our way out for the night, around midnight, wedecided to stop in the Confectionary to use up some snack credits and took the goodies with us to eat later. Our total for the snacks was $12.63.

When we got back to the room, we all got ready for bed and took these pictures...

Tyler's chocolare marshmallows ... these were on the dining plan but none of the ones with other toppings were. The signs were a little confusing and the girl working there did not know for sure either so she had to ask but that is how it worked. He really wanted one with M&Ms on it but those were not on the dining plan. But this one was good...very fresh!

Skye's white cake MIckey head...the circle of the face was a very moist, soft, white cake, the ears were marshmallow, it was covered in white frosting with hot pink sugar...it was really good even days later!

My English Toffee Bar!!!! HUGE and go-oo-oo-oo-ddddd!

After Ty ate his and I ate a chunk of mine (did I mention it was huge???) we all crashed...well, Skye was already there but Tyler and I did.

I did actually locate my receipts now...so as soon as I have actual time at home I will update the actual costs of meals...and maybe more of an accurate time frame for meals.

I am so in! I am loving your reviews -- and so many places we have yet to try. I get stuck in the rut of going back to old favorites -- but I need to start trying some new places!

What did your kids think of all the time you spent at restaurants? I guess with 17 days there, it was not a big deal ;)

The kids love the dining! Which the first time we did it I was a little worried about! But the look forward to it....

By 6:35am we were on the bus after stopping to fill our mugs with the usual drinks. We were planning to get to the Magic Kingdom and then walk or monorail to the Contemporary. But the bus driver took us right to the Contemporary....so we were a tad early...the place we were heading didn't even open until 7:30am , which is when our reservation was for!

So we sat in front of the tv in the lobby playing War for a while before we went to check in at The Wave for breakfast...

We sat in The Wave lobby for a few minutes waiting to be called...

We were the first ones called in and sat near the entry.

Now, I almost cancelled this one. I had us in for dinner...and I changed it to lunch...and ended up with breakfast. And then seeing how we were out so late, I almost cancelled...but the kids did not want to. It was a basic family style restaurant for the most part for breakfast. But it was pretty cool walking into the wave. We had excellent service. And the food was good. I was afraid the kids would see "whole grain" and words like that on the menu and not even give it a chance. I needn't have worried. We loved it.

Before we ordered the waiter told us to go check out the new buffet the were trying out. It had most of the menu items and a few other things. We knew we would be eating a lot of breakfast buffets so we oped out.

Skye had the kid's one egg, bacon, biscuit, and potatoes.

She liked it. It had a little of a lot of things.

Ty and I shared two things. We had the Mulitgrain French Toast with fruit compote and bacon...

...and...

...the American breakfast which was two eggs, potatoes, buscuit, and bacon...

The french toast came with four slices and we split them...I had the bacon and potatoes, Tyler had the eggs.

It was all hot and fresh. We left full and happy!

It cost us about $35.00 plus tip...but we used two adult and one kid's credit

I have been hearing great things about the Wave for breakfast so I cancelled dinner and plan on doing a walk in for breakfast...I also hear it isnt a busy place in the early morning

We booked The Wave for breakfast in Feb since we'll be staying at BLT. Glad to hear good things!:thumbsup2
