My very DD has decided to spend her 16th at WDW with just Mom and Dad! We feel honored but want this to be special. Have AP rates been posted yet? Where would be the best place to stay during this special trip. We'll probably arrive on the 27th and leave on the 31st or 1st, depending on the $$!!!!!! Any ideas of how to put some surprises in for her. She is ALL Disney!

Sounds like quite a special birthday is in the works. I haven't seen any AP rates released for that time period but I would check mousesavers.com as all discounts should be listed there. I'd hurry and make some reservations though as things are filling up pretty fast at all the resorts and that is a pretty busy time. As far as where to stay, a lot depends on what kind of resort you think your daughter would enjoy most. Certainly she would love just about any of the deluxes with the GF making her feel like a real princess and the Poly would be quite a relaxing tropical vacation with easy access to the MK from both. I love the BWI and the atmosphere of the whole boardwalk area. My biggest concern right now would be not disappointing her by not being able to find any rooms for those dates at WDW. I'd call first thing tomorrow and see what they have available and get something booked to be on the safe side. If you are unable to get anything, consider a delayed birthday celebration as the week after New Year's should offer a greater chance of discounts, smaller crowds and a wider availability of rooms. Once you do that you might check out the dining forum and ask for some suggestions for her birthday dinner and get that PS made asap. Good luck and let us know what you were able to get reserved.

There are AP rates during that time. It will just depend on what is available now. They were released about 3 weeks ago. Our 30th anniversary is on the 29th, but we have chosen to go a week earlier to avoid the large crowds after Christmas. We got WL for $135 a night. The 3 of you might enjoy the afternoon tea at GF. It is a lovely way to spend an afternoon.
