I bought in 2009 when the choice of new resorts was AKV and Bay Lake. 160 was the minimum to buy direct (not as an addon). So that's what I have, at Bay Lake. I think I got builders points or whatever they were called equal to 160 as well.
It worked out beautifully over the years, using points once at Grand Californian (not my fave), hosting Florida family multiple times at OKW and AKV/J as well as SSR, and also having our own trips. Then I started doing rundisney events, we did some plain resort rooms using money to preserve points for the stays with family. Divorce hit and it's mainly been me and my cousin once a year for rundisney, but when I can I host her family and even so often my son has a minute to go with me as well. All those years, at least one trip a year, on 160 points.
Oh and it was 2018 when I finally stayed at my home resort, if I recall correctly.
