meeting my sister and her 16 year old daughter at disney my sister is a single mom on a budget so the disney part of her vacation is on me we are driving down to miami for her daughters 16th birthday any suggestions what to do in miami that would not "bore" a 16 year old

How many times has she been before? If not many, she probably won't be bored. My DD is 15 (we have gone at least yearly since she was 3) She loves the rides at Hollywood Studios like Rock and Rollercoaster and TofT. Space Mountain at Magic, Everest of AK and Soarin, Test Track, Mission at Epcot. She also likes to spend a lot of time at Epcot in the different countries. It will be more fun if she has someone to go on the rides with. Depends on how long you are planning to stay. 2-3 days and she won't have time to get bored. There is always DisneyQuest and Waterparks but if it's budget, that's an added expense.
My niece goes a lot (season pass and they live an 1 1/2 away) she doesn't seem to get bored either. She's gone there on field trips too.

Catch lunch at a cool sidewalk cafe on Ocean Avenue and check out gorgeous South Beach.

yes i should have been more clear we have plenty to do in WDW we need things to do for 2 days in miami

Why not ask the 16 year old? In my experience they are pretty opinionated!


Assuming she has no clue, here are some budget friendly (free) suggestions:
South Beach is one of the best stretches of sand in the continental US
Everglades National Park is an incredible ecosystem with some great drives, hikes, look out towers and visitor's centers
A simple drive along Alligator Ally will provide lots of chances to see gators and will cost nothing more than your gas
