16 and Pregnant Part 2

Finally (and sadly) a girl who can make Farrah look like Mother of the Year. I hope this season improves because this Jenelle is utter trash. Pictures and videos are floating on the internet of her smoking pot while pregnant and she even defends her actions with claims that her doctor recommended it for nausea. Charming girl.

:scared1::scared1: Eeeeekkkk! That's as bad as a girl I used to work with that said her doctor recommended that she not quit smoking while pregnant because low birth weight is a good thing!

I watched it last night, and I wanted to throw up the whole time! Jennelle's mom drove me up a WALL. :scared1: Sure Jennelle is no saint by any stretch of the imagination... but geez lady... stop being so mean. Jennelle isn't ready to be a mom, plain and simple. Thank goodness that d-bag of a boyfriend is out of the picture. Dude's gotta put down the crackpipe, or cut down on the meth. What a bum.

That poor kid. I'm sure there are many loving families that would be ready and willing to adopt that little boy.

Oh my gosh that's horrible!! I worked with a girl who smoked during her pregnancy because her Dr. told her that (she said) the stress from trying to quit would be harmful for the baby :scared1:
How about the stress from having a baby with asthma, low birth weight, and at a higher risk for respiratory issues??? Seems like quitting would be less stressful!
I quit the day I found out I was pregnant (thankfully I was only three weeks!) It was hard, but it would have been much harder to live with knowing I selfishly caused harm to my child.
This show makes me soooo scared of the those teenage years! Maybe somebody needs to start a "I didn't screw my teen up too bad, and these are my tips for how not to screw yours up too bad" thread!!

I just realized that Jace and my DS shares the same birthday!

I was a teen mom, I had my DD when I was 16. So I have been there. Just like Janelle, I hid my pregnancy from my folks for as long as I could. Then, one day I broke down and told them. I was 6 months! My parents didnt have time to be angry, (just like Janelle's mom, my mom knew). My folks took a few days to absorb, and then the next thing I knew, she was buying a baby bed. The understanding was they would help, but I had to help myself first. I had to grow up and do what I had to do. My daughter was born in March '95, I graduated with my class in June, and by September, I was in college full time. I took care of my girl, worked and went to school. My parents were right there. Janelle has been blessed, but she's too selfish to see it. Watching her last night made me sick. I feel sorry for that precious baby boy.

I mean, have you guys seen this interview she did? This girl is not fit to raise a dog.

Big props to you for doing the right thing for your child! Raising a child isn't easy when you are married and in a stable relationship, it must require so much more when you are young and single! You should be very, very proud of yourself and your family!
It makes me so sad for little Jace! I hope he grows up with lot's of stable support from friends/teachers/mentors because it sure as heck doesn't seem like it's going to come from his family! Makes me want to go sign up with Big brothers Big sisters right now!

Thank you! That's very sweet of you to say! Having my DD made me wake up. Feeling her kick inside me was amazing, even though I was still was a kid, I was still in high school, going to parties, I wanted it all. But the moment I held Katie in my arms, that did it. No more. I was a mom. I think out of all of the 16 and Pregnant Moms, Maci is more like me. Every time she held Bentley, you saw the love. She's such a sweet girl! I heard Maci and Bentley will be making an appearence season 2, can't wait to see them!

If my DD talked to me like that, she honestly would be picking herself off the floor. But, this girl was obviously going out and partying pre pregnancy so there was no discipline there.

I think her baby's daddy has more than an alcohol problem too. But if they both dont straighten up, they will have to one day answer to that cute baby for not being real parents.

The girl is just hanging the baby over the head of the grandmother, we will leave blah blah blah. Ok, hit the street. I am sure her partying friends would love a crying baby.

I thought so too. Especially when they showed him at the hospital once the baby had been born. Something about his face- especially his eyes- just looked like he was on something. So sad. :sad2:

That poor baby boy! I feel so sorry for him with the parents he has. I can't believe the way Janelle talks to her mother. :scared1:

It doesn't seem like she wants or has time for a baby. I don't get why they don't just put Jace up for adoption. There are so many families just waiting to adopt a baby.

Wow...this Jenelle chick is something else!! That poor baby has a hard life ahead of him.

I watch this show and I don't know exactly why.....
I had DD at 20, not a teen, but still young. I NEVER wanted to leave her after she was born (hell, she is 5 and I am a SAHM and I am getting sad thinking about her leaving me in Sept for school). But anyways, it made me so sad to see how mean she was to that sweet little baby!!!! she was rolling her eyes when her mom asked her to make 3 bottles for when the baby got home. She kept saying "are you serious?
yeah!!! he needs to eat you idiot!

All I can say is WOW after reading Tuckerkeys link. Jenelle is charming isn't she? NOT!!!!!!

he needs to face it his days as a model are OVER!!! Give me a break:sick:

i didn't see it, but from what everyone else is saying, this lady has serious issues. poor baby...:sad2:

I don't judge people for their mistakes, but I don't watch these programs, either. Maybe I should watch an episode or two with my oldest son (will be 13 next month), but I can't help but feel that they pick losers to be on these programs on purpose. I have known quite a few teens that had babies, and most of them handled it pretty well...

This show has so many sensitive issues associated with it; teens having sex, bad parents, bad parenting, bad choices, partner leaving, partner cheating on pregnant girl...the list goes on and on. I think it does a good job of portraying reality.

The brother of a friend of mine became a father when he and his gf were both 18. They were very, VERY fortunate, as the dad's parents are quite well-to-do and his mom took care of the baby through her parents' first year of university and beyond. Their little girl wanted for nothing, and today she is a smart, funny 8-year old whose parents both love her and spend time with her, even though they're not together any more. However, I would not consider their situation typical by any means.

But look at Farrah, from the outside, parents don't look like they are struggling financially, she was a cheerleader, pretty girl. She doesn't look like a loser on the outside until she wants to go out looking for guys and not wanting to play mommy. Outside appearances can be misleading.

Back in the day, my bf 's sister was a couple years younger then us, partied, got knocked up. She married the guy then said she had the baby early, she didn't want people to know she was pregnant at the wedding. The marriage didn't even last a year. She comes back home to her parents who were well to do.

She wants to regain her youth by going out. Her son was sick, she would go out. What happens, she gets knocked up again. MOves in with this guy, but brings her first kid for parents to keep during the day instead of day care. Well, it was too much trouble for her to do it every morning, so her first kid lived with the parents.

My DM was almost 35 when she had me, it's not always teenagers who don't want to play parent. But that is because no one makes these kids, etc accountable.
