To clarify, the only part of SAB that is zero entry is the seperate wading pool area for kids. The main pool is not zero entry.

Yes...actually both the pool at Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach would be considered zero entry.

Zero entry pools allow wheelchair users to get into and out of pools and as such all the newer pools are designed with this in mind ADA compliant.
it means the edge of the pool goes down into the water like a beach does.

They make it easier for children to enter the pool also, unfortunately sometimes those two things conflict as the disabled person can't get past a lot of small children sitting in the "shallow" area. But usually it works out Ok.

I wanted to clarify that not all newer pools are zero entry pools.
There are a number of ways a pool can be designed to be ADA (Americans with Disabilities) compliant.
A zero entry pool is basically a long ramp into the pool and would be one way. A pool could also be made accessible by having a lift for moving people from a chair into the pool. Another way would be a set of wheelchair access steps located at the edge of the pool. We call them "bump steps" because a wheelchair user parks the wheelchair next to the steps and then can transfer onto the top step and "bump" down on their seat step by step until they are in the pool. This doesn't work for everyone - it works best for people with good upper body strength. My DD can't use the bump steps because she has to much extensor tone if she tries to move like that (her body wants to straighten out flat).
