I was told when I called Disney that the tent campsites are 1500 or 2000 loop. I have never been to Ft. Wilderness( though I have stayed onsite many times in a resort!) So I have No idea which loop I should suggest. Can someone give a recommendation to a nervous first time Disney Camper? Thanks

also I saw somewhere that u can rent a cot? Is this an option? And if so, how do u go about doing that?

I am only going by what I have read, but it would depend on what you are looking for. 1500 is near the pool, sing-along, evening movie, etc. 2000 is more remote. I am hopng for 1500, as my husband is disabled, so I don't want him to have to walk very far. BUT, I think he might prefer 2000 as he will enjoy quiet camping more than any Disney hoopla. (I know, go figure!:confused3 )

I would definately want to be more by the action and close as possible to a bus and bathrooms.

1500 is great because of the location to activities. Definitly request in your reservation that you wish to be close to the comfort stations and transportation they will do their best to accomodate you. Although you can request a loop just know that it is not guaranteed and you may still be placed in 2000 based on availbilty for your travel dates. I have stayed in both and like both. I can say that we stay quite often and have only been able to get 1500 a handful of times. If you do get the 2000 loop you will need to use the internal bus system to get to Meadow area if your not bringing bikes or renting a GC. The Fort is Great so much to do and see, you will not be dissapointed. As far as the cot goes I have not rented one we normally bring airmatresses but I know they rent them out at the front desk. You can call 407-824-2900 to get this information. Hope this helps you! Have a great time at the Fort! Also we tent camp at the fort all the time, so if you have any other questions feel free to ask!

We liked the 1500 better than the 2000. It was smaller and quieter but still closer to the pool. The 2000 seemed more open between sites and there is a group camp area behind it that can get quite noisy at times.

We have stayed in both the 1500 and 2000 loop. Both have their perks.

We stayed twice in the 2000 for 3 nights each and it is further away....like another poster said, you would need bikes, gc or buses to get anywhere. On the other hand, it is much bigger than the 1500 loop and the kids enjoyed riding their bikes on it.

When we stayed for 7 nights we got the 1500 loop and it was really nice because it was so close to everything. We still had our bikes and enjoyed the ride on them though :)

Thanks for asking this question. I was wondering the same thing for our upcoming trip. DH would prefer a more secluded site for our tent.

I love the 1500 loop for it's location, however, there are several sites there that absolutely will not work for the way I like to setup.

I usually request 2000 so that I can be sure to have plenty of room to set up my "stuff".

I usually have a golf cart though, so don't mind the distance from stuff.

I was wondering the same thing -

Also I thought that there was a size consideration ...

The tent that we are getting is 11' x 20' ... would we fit in the 1500 loop?

In most of the sites if that is all you are setting up, then you are fine, but if you add a screen room and/or EZ-Up and a couple of chairs, and you get one of the sites that has trees in weird places, then you are in trouble.

You can always request 1500 and then when you arrive if you do get that loop and you find the site won't fit your stuff you can see if another site on 1500 will meet your needs or just move to 2000.

Welcome to the Disboards!

Do you know what level of site you reserved?

If you reserved a tent site, then request the 2000 loop for sure. Your stuff should fit on any site in that loop.

If you don't have a tent site reserved, you probably ought to switch to one, as the other levels of sites have either a smaller tent pad, or, in the case of premium sites, no tent pad at all.
