Which loop would you request -- 1500 or 2000 for tent sites. We are bringing our bikes so this should help our transportation issues. We have a 7 and 5 year old. We are looking forward to our first trip to FW in Oct. 07. Haven't booked yet as we don't know when fall break will be.

We ALWAYS request the 1500 loop. It is a smaller loop and is centrally located right across from the Meadowlands Recreation Area (campfire, pool, tennis courts, store, bike barn, etc).

The 2000 loop is a bit isolated and is VERY large. You almost have to take the bus or your bike.

The 1500 loop is very popular ... especially if arriving on weekends, so you may not always get your request if your arrival is planned for a Friday or Saturday.

I love the 1500 Loop for it's location, and size.

However, having said that, the sand areas in Loop 1500 are smaller and not laid out as well as the ones in 2000. Only about 1/2 of the sites in 1500 have the room I need for my gear.

The sites in 2000 have larger sand areas, and are designed better for tent campers. As previous posters have stated, 2000 is remote and there is a greater chance that you will be a good distance from a comfort station.

Disney could solve the Loop 2000 problem if they wished. All it would take is putting a sidewalk down the rest of the road that the Purple bus takes to get to Settlement. Then folks could walk or bike that direction instead of following the convoluted sidewalk direction as it stands now.

In June we stayed at the 2000 loop, 2008 to be specific, and it was about a 1 minute walk to one comfort station and a 1 1/2 minute walk to another. Reasonable distances. The size of our space, 2008 was about 20 feet across and more than that in length in the sand, plus your car area. We had a 22 foot long pop up and a 12 X 20 foot screen house on it with room to spare. Personally, I enjoyed walking around the camping area, it is nature after all, and you can chat with others camping. Taking a bus was not that much of a problem as they came about every 10 minutes or so, if not less. Don't sweat the small stuff, just enjoy the outdoors! :sunny:

We stayed in the 1500 loop last night, 1501 to be exact. It's a small site, very small. We had just enough room to put our 3 room tent but there's no way we could have put anything else there.

It was a very quick walk to the comfort station & the bus stop, which was a plus. The negative? Being so close to the bus stop. :rotfl: It was directly behind the site so we heard busses running for quite awhile after we were trying to go to sleep. My guess is, they finally quit running around midnight or so, but I'm not sure.

We liked how small the 1500 loop was but I think next time we'll either request a higher number within that loop (which would be further inside the loop rather than on the outer edge) or we might try the 2000 loop next time.

Thank you so much for all of your help. It looks like we will probably be heading to the 2000 loop because of all of our "stuff"!!

And even if you request the 1500 loop, it took us four trips before it was granted to us! We even stayed in the SAME site twice in the 2000 loop I do like 1500 better.
