Hey everybody, I have to say this is a great part of the dis boards. You are all so encouraging. I would love to join if it's still possible? I'm 24 and just got engaged in July, we are due to be married in Disney in November 2007.

I'm currently at 190 lbs and have started working out and eating right again but I need all the encouragement I can get. I guess I just got too comfortable with my fiance and went from 155 to 190 to what seems to be overnight.

I have to say again that I love this site

KathyT and Debra Here's to you and the wonderful clippie pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: Thank you Thank you thank you!!

Ok so is somebody gonna tell me how to get this scale to go down? Today I had 60 minutes with PT than this evening I walked on TM for 1/2 hour for 1.5 miles. Water is going in, junk is staying out, and no eating after 8, and still the scale stays the same. I am getting really frustrated.

So I need some tips on getting the scale in the downward slide.

Welcome to all the newbies. You have come to the right place.

I hope everyone is doing better than I

Happy losing

Welcome Tink4ever Zim and ComunicoreGal!!!

You are in the right place gals!!! Come on in and share your struggles and successes and wake up each morning knowing we all will get to the 150's together!!! It's a journey and we can ignore it or take the path to fit and feeling great...I think the latter is the wiser! :)

Great to have you guys with us!!!

I'm doing my 4 mile walk tomorrow am...a new day to get me to goal!!! The past few days have been maintaining days and not losing days...I forecast some losing days this weekend!!! :)

62 degrees tomorrow and spring is on its way! :)

Tara

Thanks for the welcomes! I'm looking forward to getting to the goal! As a subgoal, I might lose enough to get a cute pirate costume for Halloween (and then bring it along for the Disney Cruise!)

Schatz5K - What's your normal daily calorie intake look like? Sometimes I get into a flatline on weight loss when I switch to eating healthy because it seems like I'm eating constantly all day - fruits, veggies, sunflowers seeds, whole grain slices of bread... then when I put it all down I realize I'm short about 500 calories causing my metabolism to go into suspended animation. If that's the case, asdd some of these foods and see if it doesn't jumpstart the ol' metabolism: cottage cheese, skim milk, cous cous, spinach... I can't remember the others, but if I do, I'll post them.

Thanks for all of my Welcomes! I am excited to be on this board. I need the encouragement because for some reason I have begun to accept that I will be fat forever even though it makes me miserable. I will do it and I thank you for letting me vent. I have 120 lbs to lose so I have decided to just focus on the first 20. I set up my treadmill and I have all of my WW info. So I am going to do it this time. :cheer2:

Happy Losing Evening!

I hope everyone is feeling good about themselves and ready for the weekend. I promise to try to post more here this weekend. I get off track every weekend, and I rarely make it here. I see a correlation! :rotfl:

A hearty :welcome: to all the newbies! This is a great place, you will find tons of support and terrific ideas.

I did my long walk on the TM today. I had Garden State as my movie. I really didn't like it, so after 15 minutes Dr. Phil became my workout buddy. I think my next Netflix selection is Aviator, so I'm pretty sure I'll like that better for next week.

DH and I are going to buy an exercise bike this weekend. I am really hoping we won't have to wait long to get it delivered/assembled. I'm hoping it's something we can take home and he can put together, but my dh is not the handiest of fellows.

I am determined to get the eating and exercise right. After my co-worker's 12 lb. loss, I have got to get myself in gear!

Tink4ever -- You can always jump in where you are and work on weight loss. I start over multiple times in the same day! The trick is to give yourself permission to have as many fresh starts as you need. Don't let one day become one week, one month, etc. I'm guilty of that.

Zim -- Cute new outfits are always a great goal! It's also a great visualization tool to see yourself, dancing at the Pirate Party, wearing that very cute costume!

Tara -- Enjoy that warm weather. I vaguely remember Spring -- I think my last one was in 1996 when I still lived in St. Louis!

Tracy -- When I first start really exercising and eating right, it takes about 3 weeks for the scale to move. If you are actually adding muscle (which I think you are, just look at those workouts!), it does weigh more than the fat and your weight may stay the same. But, here's how you can tell it's working -- your clothes are fitting better! You are getting smaller, so you are making progress! Good job!

Communicoregal -- Engagements are stressful! It is very easy to gain while you are going through all the adjustments and planning. Kudos to you for deciding to work on your weight at the same time. You are a wise young woman.

Kathy T and Debra -- Thanks so much for the clippie! I adore it! Woohoo! This is an awesome club! :goodvibes

Karen, Jean, Kathy, Linda, Jen and Dona -- I'm smiling because I know you are all crazy busy, but we are in this together and we are going to get to our goal! :grouphug:

Have a great night and I'll send smiles in the morning! :)

Maria

Thank you for welcoming me with open arms. It brought a big smile to my face tonight before I called it a night. Does anybody have a good page on trying to find out the correct calorie intake we should have?

Worfiedoodles: Yes, engagements are stressful but it's also the best time of my life. Granted I haven't lived that long of a life yet but I'm having fun for now. The most stressful part isn't my own wedding, but having to go to 5 weddings and I'm in 2 of them and my fiance is in 1. Definately more difficult because I now have to try to fit into 2 gowns.

Oh well I'll get through.

I hope all of you have a very happy Friday and a great weekend.

And thanks again for all of your support :cheer2:

Please forgive me. I accidentally posted under my fiance's name. (Communicoreguy) Can you tell it's late?

Definately time for bed

G'night to all

Maria - Congrats on getting back to the TM. Mine is calling my name and hope to find time tomorrow. These 3 jobs are eating up alot of time :) What kind of bike are you looking at Standard stationary or recumbent?

Tink4 - Which WW plan are you following CORE or FLEX? I have tried CORE but miss my pasta too much - am thinking of switching to Flex.

Zim- What a Great fun goal - Halloween costume!! Keep MOVING AND LOSING

Tara - 62 degreess!!!!!!! We are still in the 30s :cold: :cold: :cold: The thought of walking outside...............NAH :teeth:

Schatz - Did that evil scale move down for you? Hang in there it will!!

Jen, Debra and Kathy - WHERE ARE YOU!!!!!! How is life going? Debra we need to start exercising together!!!!!!

Puppy is calling my name - paw: :dog:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!

Hi Everyone!
Sorry I have been MIA. I love the new Clippie. I have had an emotional week (which included emotional eating, and now I am paying for that).

I found out that DD2 (who goes to the regular public school) didn't get into the school her sister is in because they didn't have a spot for her for next year. On the bright side, she is first on the waiting list (and there is a LONG list of kids trying to get into this school), so if a spot opens by August when school starts she can still get in. It would have just been nice if she could have gotten in during sibling enrollment so we could make plans for next year.

That was stress number one. Then stress number two. DD1 broke up with her boyfriend. I know, this is silly that is upset me, but this is my DD's first boyfriend (she is 12 1/2) and they were SO CUTE together. But within the course of 1 week something went wrong, and she became upset with him and then she broke up with him, and then he upset her again, and well.....I felt like *I* was going through this myself! I know......this is so stupid! I just wanted to step in and FIX everything. But now she has a crush on another boy, and she and her old boyfriend are at peace and are talking nicely to each other, and I guess all is well now. She is going to her first sleepover party with girls at her school (she has been to sleepovers at friends that I PICKED for her, but this is her first time with her new friends at her new school).

Oh, I know, I sound like a crazy mom......but just 15 months ago I was homeschooling my darling babies and they were under my watchful eye 24/7.....now my little chicks are more on their own and I worry about them constantly.

ANYWAY......after DD2 broke up with her boyfriend, she and I pigged out together! (I hope she doesn't get another boyfriend, I told her High School is soon enough).

But I have been good the last two days so I hope I am back on track.

We leave 4 weeks from tomorrow for our trip to WDW and the Disney Cruise!

Hope everyone is doing great!
Debra

Good Morning everyone. Welcome new people.

Yes I am busy, busy, busy. Costumes for Evita all day tomorrow. We won't know until tomorrow how much we have to do. I willalso be there all day Sunday through the first dress rehersal on Sunday night to see how much we have to finish up next week. Final dress rehersal is for seniors and scouts and that is next Thursday night. It will be a big push this weekend.

I hope to do my first three mile walk either this afternoon or tomorrow morning. Last weekend I did 2 miles but I haven't done three since the summer when I was DW.

The scale was down for the first time in 4 months last week but I don't believe it until I see it again this Sunday. So wish me luck.

Maria - The exercise bike should be able to fit in a van. My sons put mine together when I got it but I could have done it by myself. They just like to put things together.

I have to go. This weekend is supposed to be bitterly cold with lots of wind and my husband and his scout troop are going skiing and snow tubing. Lucky for them

I will check in latter but if I don't have a great weekend and stay warm.

Hi everyone. Welcome new people.

I have been lurking and not posting. I am holding steady at 167. Exercise has been frustrating but is getting done. I want to start the run/walk program for my 15K in May. Running causes severe pain in the top of my lwft foot. My regular doctor and podiatrist say to not try running until I go back in to see the neurosurgeon and get his opinion. Hopefully he will tell me what I want to hear.

I have a nerve block scheduled to March 31. It is supposed to get rid of the headache I have had since last March. There is nerve damage to my right arm caused by the bulging disk and arthritis in my neck. They wanted to do it March 7 but I couldn't take the time off and still get my corporate returns done by March 15. I leave for WDW March 17 and want to go knowing I have my work done so I can relax.

I will contiue training even if I am not allowed to run. I walked the Half marathon and can walk the 15K.

Everyone is doing great trying to stay on plan with healthy eating and exercise. I may join a different gym so I will know some of the other people who go there.

Need to try and get some work done. Have a great day.

Good Evening, Ladies!

How was your day? I was good until my post-lunch M&M treat, then dh wanted BK for dinner (we're giving up ff for Lent, so he wanted to get it in while we could). Not my best day, and no TM because I got home so late from work...Tomorrow will be better!

Kathy -- I am so impressed that you still work out and work on your eating with your health issues. I think I would give up, but you are determined to succeed. What a great inspiration for the rest of us! I will be sending good wishes your way for the nerve block.

Dona -- Evita makes me want to sing. I hope you are enjoying it, even with the work. :goodvibes

Debra -- I don't envy you reliving the angst of junior high! It was bad enough the first time :crazy2: Here's hoping DD2 will get into DD1's school before the next year starts. I know that would be much easier for all of you! :thumbsup2

Linda -- Did you get back on the TM? I'm looking at a regular bike. Much less expensive and take up less space. My basement is at a premium. Because of the way it is set up, I don't have a lot of room in front of the t.v. with the TM already there. :crowded:

Communicoregal -- You are indeed busy! It sounds like you are really enjoying your life, and that you have a fabulous attitude! :cloud9:

A big Howdy to everyone else! Let's make this a losing weekend! :Pinkbounc

Maria

Life has been crazy busy.

Wednesday was our last actual cheer practice and a general getting things around day.

Thursday was play practice and set up day for the game

Friday was a long bus ride, 30 Hour Famine (I did sneak in pizza after the game because I needed to keep my energy up), and we won our final game in overtime! We're going to tourneys!!!!

Saturday involves 5 more hours of Famine, library trip, Cheerleaders Meal at a local restaurant, and I'm going to see a musical with my friends.

Eats have been good. Water was GREAT yesterday-no juice at all!! Exercise has been peachy.

Welcome new members!

AWESOME clippie!!! pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Thanks!!

Life is going. It's been a lot better. In my gym class the other day I noticed that I could run 3 of the 5 laps if I really wanted to! Last year I was pushing one and a half! And it's easier to do situps with a smaller belly. Remember: confidence radiates. I've been so like  crazy lately. Now I'm actually doing things I want to do this weekend...except the library thing. I need to turn in my books!

Famine is on its last legs. Thank goodness. I'm going to have some broth (shhh!) and water. I think broth is considered a food...

Love to you all!

Jen,
THIS is REALLY AWESOME! Wow! I am so proud of you! This is great! I remember how much I hated gym class in high school. I could never keep up with the other kids. I am just so happy for you!
Great Job!
Debra

Good MOrning all

Yesterday was even worse than I thought. THey had us in the gym at the very back of the school and the sweatshop moms who were helping me were in the lobby. What a trek. When we were in the gym so much was happening I don't even know what we have to do today. We have to go through every kids costumes and finish them today. I will be sewing and giving instructions to the moms all afternoon and then I have to sit through the dress rehersal tonight. It is going to be a long day but nothing I haven't done before. I can just picture the rehersal tonight and some where during the show one of the guys are going to come out and say that they don'tr have anything to wear. It happend a couple of years ago and the kid showed up in his underwear. It was a pretty funny site.

The good news that I have for this morning is something I have been sitting on for a week. Last Sunday morning I got on my scale and for the first time in 4 months it was down. Not only down but down 5 pounds. I didn't believe it but I got on the scale this morning and I was still down 5 pounds. Since Feb 1st, 2005 I have lost 25 pounds and right now I am only 2 pounds from onederland. Thanks to all of you for all the encouragement. I hope to be in onderland soon and you willbe the first to know about it. This is the lowest I have weighed in years and it feels good to have gotten here even with all the hard work that I have put in.

I hope everyone gets this kind of great news this week.

Off to church

Dona!!!! WAHOO!!!! ONEDERLAND Is on the way!!!! All that hard work has paid off!!! Aren't you just tickled!!! And remember to reward yourself with a good book, treat (non-edible), or add some change in your vacation fund! :) I like to buy plants for my rewards...your plugging through has really inspired me...thanks for the GREAT ATTITUDE!!! :)

Debra!! Boy, we missed you! I've been quasi hanging in there...the scale has not moved down but time has moved on and it's time to get ready for spring and my long walks to help me with the process..I do sooo much better walking...it was 68 on Friday and this morning I planned to go for my 4 miler and the wind chill was 20...ugh! I completely understand about your daughter's trauma with boyfriends...I think we've warded them off until my daughters are 23. :)

Jen! Busy busy busy!!! But wahoo on the 3 laps in gym...doesn't that make you feel STRONG!!!! You are going in the right direction! :)

Maria...oooh M&M's are tough to say no to..I don't think I've ever turned them down if offered! I was planning on doing low carb...missed my mark the first of the week because I had no groceries for it...yesterday I did great until without even thinking I indulged in a handful of Cheezits when my kids offered me some...when they were in my mouth I went UGHUGHUGH!!! I should have just spit them out but realized it was better to stop at the 5 I had just put in my mouth and move on. Those scales will move for us SOON!!!

Kathy!!! You should be soo excited to hold at 167!!! I am coming for you!!! You're only 8 pounds away from the 150's!!! CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!! :)

Linda...got my flowers planted...next are 8 big trees (well 6 bushes burlapped and 2 trees)....I have callouses the size of Texas...but hopefully my roses in summer will outshine them! :) Now, I need to get to my draperies! :) And in between LOSE SOME POUNDAGE!

I had a bagel for breakfast...lunch will be turkey and cheese on wheat...then hopefully I can stick to my slimfast for dinner! :)

Let's kick it team!!!

To all the newbies!!! I'm sooo excited to read your posts and your enthusiasm...some of us (me!) seem to drag our tails getting to the 150's but I keep sticking in here knowing that others will need me when they're in a slow time...I sure need y'alls motivation and do itiveness! :) You're like a sunshine on my bad days! :)

Let's shine on that scale next week guys!!!
Tara

Hi Ladies,

Not sure if anyone remember me, but I was doing well in the 150's club until about October. I'm trying to figure out a way to get back into the scheme of things...just not sure how.

How is everyone doing?

Holy condoli, guys! It was a crazy weekend. I had a girls night out with a couple of friends! We saw Anything Goes and ate at a Mexican place...went out for "coffee" but none of us really like coffee so we just got sodas/water and desserts.

Eating has been down the tubes. TOM is coming and the hungries are coming out.

I did WI at 179 yesterday morning...but that was before the hungries made themselves known.

I am going to make this week a good week. I will make this a good week because I can...because I'm tired of being stuck in the blucky body when I know I can feel positive.

WE can DO this! :cheer2: :woohoo:

Morning All!!

We are still sitting in the 30's here in Chicago :cold: Hate this weather.........

Nothing new to report........still fighting lack of motivation. I don't know what the secret key is but I WILL FIND IT!! There has to be some psychological reason why I don't want to lose weight.......

Busy couple of weeks coming up - DD18 was at school at 5am this morning for makeup call - preview of CATS THE MUSICAL starts today. Shows are running the next two weekends. Plus fitting in a trip to Milwaukee for her Dance Audition for college AND taking a trip to Indiana U to see daughter.....plus the various part time jobs I am currently holding.....how many different ways can I split myself :teeth: :teleport: Ok just walked away to get more coffee :coffee: and instead of pouring sugar free syrup in it I tried to pour olive oil in it............. :crazy2:  and it is just MONDAY :rotfl2:

TOM is here this week which probably is contributing to my current state of mind............just knock me out for the week :duck:

Jen - Sounds like you had a GREAT time with your friends. Just close your eyes this week until TOM leaves. Make good choices.......if you do then I will :goodvibes

Nikki - Just jump back in :welcome: good to see a friend!!

Dona - COME ON you can do this  :cheer2: Onderland is soooooooooooo close pixiedust: pixiedust:

Kathy - WOO HOO!!! :woohoo: You are so close to that 150 mark!! Just keep fighting for it.

Maria- What movie have you been watching while walking on the TM........come on inspire me and you :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc

Debra - HUGS AND KISSES :grouphug: :grouphug: from one mom to another. The hardest thing to do is to watch your child hurt pixiedust: BUT the best thing you can do is to allow them to live life on their terms.........You are so brave and good to NOT get involved and "fix" things. This will just be the beginning of alot of adventures the girls will have in life.......They get over it alot faster than the mom does. If you ever need a shoulder - I have 2 :goodvibes :goodvibes

To everyone let's make it a Changing day :rainbow: :rainbow: Losing is the keyword.

Have a magical Disney Day!!
Linda
