Just a quick "Hi" again. If I'm typing, I'm not eating...I had pizza for dinner. DH just wasn't going to cook - at least I tried to limit my portion. Now I'm hungry and headed for popcorn, but at least it's the light kind :confused3

Jen -- It sounds like tryouts were fine. I'm sure you did very well. I was always too nervous to tryout for anything. You should be so proud you went and did it!

Jennifer -- Welcome! You are going to find lots of support here. Where did you move from? Are you getting to enjoy your first warm winter? I'm in Boston, so warm for us is in the 40s.

Tracy -- You do have a full-time job, you just don't get paid in cash! I can't imagine that it would ever make sense for you to work outside the home 9-5 with six children under 12 -- unless you were Angelina Jolie with a nanny for each child. The child care costs alone would be unbelievable! But, I'm sure it is very hard on your husband to feel that pressure of being the only provider. I'm sending good thoughts and wishes your way!

Here's to a brighter tomorrow!
Maria

Jen - I hope all goes well with the tryouts, it takes a lot of guts to try out for a play.

Maria - It feels good to be back, now I just have to convince my body that I don't need all the junk food I keep craving.

Today was a good day. I did get up a excerise before work for 20min. I also drank about 64 oz of water today.

Regina

Jennifer: Welcome! Hey, just take one step at a time. You will get there and you will feel SO GREAT when you do!

Jen: Let us know what happens with Cinderella. You are SO busy, how do you get to all of these things? Do you drive? My kids run me ragged, but they are 12 so I have to drive them to all of their activities.

Maria: I think we get a new LOST episode tomorrow night! Yeah! It has been a LONG time!

Linda: Are you going to hit the 50s this week in temps? We are suppose to on Thursday! I can't believe the difference in January after we froze in December. I figure we are in for a BIG HIT anytime! I guess we should enjoy it while we have it!

Regina: That is so great that you got up earlier to exercise. I hate mornings! And I hate exercising. The two together......well just couldn't happen for me. I want to try walking on the treadmill to one of the morning shows, but so far, I haven't managed a routine. Maybe tomorrow.

Tara: WHERE ARE YOU????? I miss you! I wonder if she is having computer problems. I hope she is back with us soon!

Jean: Enjoy the remodeling. Maybe you can post some pictures for us to see when you are done. I bet it will be beautiful!

To everyone: Have a great Wednesday! I am just trying to stay busy tonight so I don't reach for any more snacks. I didn't do so good today, but tomorrow is going to be GREAT!

Debra

Thanks from all the support!! I know I can do this!! I just moved from the Northwest where it was very cold LOL..Loving the weather!

Jennifer

Morning Everyone,

Well I stepped on the scale today and it didn't move. How discouraging is that. I have been drinking water, exercising and well I can't say I have been really good with the food thing. BUT...those cashews are finally out of my house. I can only hope that I am building muscle and losing the fat. I did decide to cut out the cappucino coffee from the local stop and rob...NO MORE... I'M DONE.... I just love the English Toffee flavor but maybe that's what is hindering the loss of pounds.

Jen, when will you find out if you get the part of Cinderella, and if you don't get Cinderella will you get another part?

This weekend is turning out to be very busy, My two oldest daughters are cheerleaders and they have games on Sat and Sun. On Sat the game is 30 miles away. Not that this is too far, it is just at 1pm, so to work around the littler kids eating schedule and have them sit through the games proves to be interesting. We like to go as a whole family, so that my husband can see them cheering as well. The other game is in the late afternoon on Sunday, so that isn't too bad. I'll just have to plan a bit better and bring those carrot sticks.

Jean, I love the description of your house. I wish we could find a big ole house to remodel. The new houses around here are so big, we(all 8 of us) would fit comfortably but they are alos priced at 3/4 of a million. I just don't see us buying one of those on 1 income. :crazy2:

I did get to the gym this am, I did the work out I was given, and I hope to see results in about 3 weeks. I also walked on the treadmill but this time I had it on an incline. I need to feel the burn in the bum.

see ya later....have a great losing day.

Morning All!! :sunny:

Rainy, foggy and 40 degrees here - blech.........how depressing.

The wagon is still moving forwards!! The scale showed me 172lbs this morning!! :cool1: So I am back to my 4.5 lb loss for the month.

Actually not working today - not many teachers out. My GF has some data entry to do so I might help her...........hmmmmmmmmm so many options.

Does anyone know of any good DVDs for weight training. With the pool table leaving on Sunday I am making all sorts of plans for my new exercise area. Looking for a DVD which will take me through a weight lifting program.

Schatz - with all the time you spend at the gym you HAVE to be building muscle which of course weighs more than fat!! How old are the cheerleaders? We went through this with the younger DD between 7th grade and sophomore in high school. The team was a competitive team - she had to quit because they kept throwing her up and not quite catching her as she came down  :faint: Spent over a year in physical therapy........... :crazy2:

Jennifer - WELCOME - you come to the correct place for support while you travel to a healthier you!!

Jen- When do you find out about the casting? Keeping fingers and toes crossed for you!!

Debra - sending you icky weather sorry!! I am with you - hate exercise and mornings:):)

Regina - WOO HOO!! Keep going with your morning exercise program!! Gives you alot more energy!!

Tara- How is it going? Cady letting you get some extra sleep?

Puppy calling my name.......not really my name but I am the only one around to hear him :rotfl:

Have a Magical Disney Day!!
Linda

Happy Wednesday!

Off to a good start, breakfast down and planned lunch ready to go. I'm also going for a quick walk before lunch, then I'll be doing my short run on the treadmill after work.

I was pretty discouraged to see I'd gained a pound this morning, after the scale not moving for 3 days. I really do think I'm gaining muscle, because my clothes are slightly looser. I think that in a few weeks this will all shake out, my body will get used to it, and I will see the losses I'm looking for. Right now I'm focused on getting used to moving my body most days. I'm trying with food, but I keep ending up with a bag of light popcorn I hadn't intended. Well, that won't happen tonight -- no more left in the house! :rotfl:

Linda -- It's in the 40s here and we think we're having a heat wave! It feels pretty good for January in New England. Glad to hear the losses are still coming! You are definitely going to hit 5 by the end of the month. I hope to as well, I'm just waiting for the results of my work to show... :confused3

Tracy -- I love the incline on the treadmill, you really will see a new "shape". I think that's partly why I show my losses first in that area. It's also more like walking outside, so you're definitely burning more calories! ;)

Jennifer -- Lucky you! I would love to be able to go outside anytime because the climate is so temperate. I think you're really going to have fun getting in shape with all that sunshine headin' your way! :sunny:

Debra -- The wait for Lost is finally over! Tonight there is a retrospective, then Mr. Eko's episode. I'm looking forward to finding out why this man is so quiet. Oh! I finally tried the sour candy (I can't remember the name). For zero calories, you get a lot of flavor! I got through a Celtics game without other snacks because they were so yummy. You find the best stuff! :flower:

Regina -- The cravings will go, I promise! I'm managed to get myself to craving light popcorn, which isn't great, but is much better than a bag of chips. In six months, we will be delighted munching on Debra's carrots! :goodvibes

Jen -- I hope you don't have to wait too long to find out how tryouts went. It will be great to know what role you might have, and get excited about it. You're such a positive person, I know you will look for a sky of blue, whatever the results! ::yes::

Kathy, Jean, Tara, Haley, Mickey Girl -- I know you're doing great! Let's all get Jumpin' for January! :jumping3:

Maria

The school is a two minute walk away from my house!

And you are speaking with the Cook in Cindy's Kitchen!!! Just what I need, being around more food! :p

Today:
Breakfast: 2 cups cereal and toast with PB (7)
Lunch:4 chicken nuggets, potato, pineapple (8)
Snack: one yogurt and 10 marshmallows (birthday celebration for the little kid goldfish...he's one! :fish: :bday: ) !!! His name is Nemo.

Water: 12 ounces, 36 to go.

Cheerleading today: jump drills and lots of moving. One hour!

 Boy it's quite on here today. You must be all out at the gym. or at the grocery store buying healthy food.

I got to the gym, today for about an hour and than I'll go again when I'm there working. I want to get in two workouts today, because I have a late(7pm) dinner meeting. I'm the Fundraising coordinator for school(thankfully this is the last year) and the school board wants to talk about different fundraising things. I don't know why, they do whatever it is they want to do anyway. They should just put a survey out to the parents with the major changes they want to make and see what the parents think. This to me seems so simple, but to them,

So anyway, did the incline on the TM again, I really like feeling the difference makes in my muscles when I'm walking. So hopefully it will help my behind look a bit better. I had a 1/2 of PB sandwich on wheatbread and a cheese stick for what I'm calling lunch. I'm trying to eat every three hours. I needed some energy, so hopefully this will stave of the cravings for junk.

Here's to a losing day

I'm BAAACK guys!!! Boy!!! I feel like this is the road to the 150's FINALLY!!! :)

Short updates...

Cady, our 9 week old puppy has kept me up nights for the past 3 weeks...two nights ago I finally got 5.5 hours of straight sleep...what a difference that alone makes in choosing to eat right! :) I've been like a zombie of sorts just making it through the day with the lack of sleep...the good news is she's getting bigger, bladder is too, and she'll require lots of walking...it will GET me out this winter! :)

I am p.o'ed at my weight...I did it to myself...but boy would I love to be at my low of 175..so I'm pushing myself through the Discovery 8 week body challenge and trying to make these next 8 weeks a big big losing effort...part of that will be coming on here and rallying the troops...I've been trying to figure out a way to email each 150's member for a roll call of sorts...but right now I can only email 5 at a time and there are over 60 of us that have expressed a desire to get to the 150's...so my first call to order is to draw up a letter and refresh our list so that I can keep an active record of each of our losses...I think that really helps to see how much we've lost as a team...so I will be working on that this evening and reading back posts to see what kind of clippie will be our banner...any more suggestions or ideas would be great!!!

We're here to lose, we're here to cheer, and we're here to overcome our history of not being at goal!!! :)

Love you guys!!!
Tara

I did finally face the music and weighed myself today, it is offical I gained back all that I lost. :sad1: But, I have to put that behind me and focus on the future.

Yesterday was a so-so day, I did have few cookies, but I did stop myself at only 3 so that is better than I was doing.

Today, I got up at 4:30am and did 20 min. on the elliptical machine before work. I have done well with eating so far. Since we are finally seeing the sun here at are at in the 50's, I went for a 10min walk at lunch with a co-worker.

Tara - I was just wondering what happened to you, glad to see you are back and heading for the 150's.

Maria - I keep telling myself I an not really hungry, I just need to try and stay busy so that I don't snack. I also need to watch my carb intake. I have found when I start eating carbs it is very hard for me to stop.

First practice was today! I was great! No more exams and a four day weekend!

B: mashed potatoes with cheese (5)
L: The meat and lettuce from a dinky taco salad (2), carrot sticks (0)
S: yogurt, more carrots, pineapple and PB crackers (8)
D: mac n cheese with sausage (I'm "kidsitting" my little brother: dunno but am afraid to look!)

Jen - I am glad to hear that your fist practice went well. Congratulations on getting the part.

Currently I am sitting hear waiting for the cupcakes to cool so I can put the frosting on them. They are going to preschool with DS5 Friday, this is a special treat for the class since they do not normally have cupcakes for snackes. They normally only have healthy snacks.

Wow! I just scanned through 192 pages of THREADS!!! ISn't that amazing??? We are about to pass our 200 page mark!!! That's 200 pages of ENCOURAGMENT, SUPPORT, LOSSES, And COMEBACKS!!! I'm sooo excited to see some familiar faces coming back in the New Year! I'm finally at a place where I can visualize myself hitting the 150's and sooo need all you guys...your successes, your not so good days to lift me up when I kick myself on a bad one, your funny sayings and of course Jen's cheers! :)

I started out trying to go through each page thinking there were only 92 pages..then when I realized there were 192 pages I kind of hit every third page...thinking I'd find most who had signed on at one time or another that I didn't add to the master list on page one...so I'm going to email everyone tonight and tomorrow to start a 2006 roll call and start keeping track of the weight and pounds GONE for good! :) So, if you want to give me your starting weight from this point on I'll update a new roster page and repost it every month.

Now here's what's amazing...there are 80 of us!!! I know atleast 3 made it to the 150's last year...how about us kicking that number up to 10 for 2006....anyone up for a higher number??? I'm off to email 80 great losers...here's hoping this year brings us all closer to the 150 club! :)

Tara

Well I went to Curves last night for the first time in like 3 months and since our big move!! The good news I weighed 6lbs less than I did when I last stepped on a scale at Christmas time...lbs are only going to go down from here LOL!!

Have a great day guys!!

Jen

I am still here wanting to get to the 150's. I haven't done much of anything in the last week. The nurse at my school found I had an irregular heartbeat last week. So far nothing has come back to show a reason. I have worn the monitor and will have an echocardiogram on Monday and then off to the cardiologist on Tues. Hopefully I can back on track this weekend.

Jen Did I miss a posting? What part did you get? My son's school is doing EVITA and I am helping to finish the costumes. We started those last week. We only have 6 weeks until they open.

Thank you all for all the encouragement that this site has given me. You feel like family.

Ok Tara. I am back!! Thanks for the pm

I started WW right after Thanksgiving and lost 11 lbs. However, last weeks wonderful vacation returned 4.5 of those to me :sad1: But starting this weekend we will be back on track. I am at 168.5 so not too far to go. I would love to get down to 155 or 150. I will catch up with everyone later today. Thanks again!

:flower2: :rose: :flower1: :shamrock: :daisy: Here's a bouquet for all the 150'ers coming back to share their losing ways! :)

Hey agotta!!! YEAH!!! 11 pounds is AWESOME! And you know that those 4.5 pounds aren't true weight...3 of those will fall off in no time and just put in some extra water and stick to your points for that last one then you'll be in 150's in under 10 pounds!!!! Aren't you EXCITED???? You could be the first 150'er to reach the 150's in the New YEar...no pressure, now mind you! :)

Donac!! I'm hoping the echo comes out fine and it was just a blip...get plenty of rest and take it easy before adding too much exercise in...long walks are good for the heart...keeping your beat steady and strong just not overtaxing it. Let us know how you're doing!!! ::yes::

Jen (Jenniferolt)... :worship: SIX POUNDS OVER CHRISTMAS??? That's like a record! :teeth: You must be sOOO excited!! So how many pounds until 150's? Are you knocking on Agotta's door? GREAT job on curves...working out may stall the scale at times but the inches you lose speak louder than those scales do...so stick with it and make this Spring a BLAST to jump into! :)

Regina! How did the cupcake pass off go? I hope all the kids ate them all and you just got to sample the frosting! :) Those kind of foods are my enemy!! I can just look at them and magically they're going down my throat! But :flower2: a bouquet for you for being the good room mother! :) The kids need that sugar! :)

Schatz5k...AWESOME job on working out! That burn will make your bum feel much better! Hoping this weekend goes smoothly for you with all the traveling with your daughters....just watching those cheerleaders and their energy level makes me want to get out there and cheer...and I GUARANTEE you that you've lost inches...I was much smaller when walking regularly 4 miles a day...but the scale might move 3-4 pounds a month but that exercise probably took off another 5 pounds of volume without me knowing it...pants were much looser then than now...so I'm committing to sticking to exercising no matter if the scale moves..my clothing size will! Stick with it!

Jen2009!! I missed the part you got! You are one actively amazing young lady! You're going to do big things in your life...and one of them is mastering the GOAL this year...I just know we're going to see you heading for cool and breezy numbers! :) Just don't wear yourself thin with that teenagers schedule! It tires me thinking of all you do! :)

Debra! You are the Queen of losing!! Lost all those pounds since Christmas in no time!!! I can't wait to see pictures from your vacation after you return...that smile of yours will be HUGE!! Hope you've got some fun outfits that show off your new you! :)

Off to weigh in...officially I want to weigh in tomorrow but it's Friday and seeing those post Christmas numbers will keep me on the straight eating path through the day. Anyone else weighing in today? I look at it as the LAST time I"ll EVER weigh this again! :) That's somehow encouraging...

LOSING is a way to goal...much more fun with all of y'all...yep that doesn't rhyme! :)

Tara

I am the cook in Cinderella's kitchen!!! I have a SONG that I actually have to SING and LINES! Yay! And I might get to wear a pretty ball gown and dance!

I am going to be such a loser in 06. I just have to get my planets realigned...portion control! No mindless snacking! Good and healthy foods! Exercise! Water!

My dad is making sausage for breakfast but I don't think I really want that! But I have something that I know would make Debra proud! I ate my way through a HALF BAG of carrots. Wow. That's a lot of carrots. But I did it.

Today, I have no idea what I'll have for breakfast.
Lunch: I'll probably "order out" chef salad and breadsticks from a local pizza place. I'll walk up there and enjoy it then walk home!
Dinner: Dunno, but I have a game tonight. It will probably be something with carbs because I need energy to cheer on our boys!
Snacks: I'll have something at the game (someone almost always provides fruit...and if worse come to worst, I can have a soft pretzel and a water) and maybe something else.

I also started my 100 day challenge! No junk food (like chips, candy, pretzels, soda EVEN DIET!), no juice, and no fast food (burgers, fries...pizza is okay but only if unavoidable...ice cream. Grilled chicken and salads are wonderful!) I've done well so far...2/100! I'm very proud. It's hard being a teenager and not constantly snacking on the chips or having the McBurger meal after every game! But I feel so good when I tell myself that I really don't want it!

I started listening to my body this year too. I mean...if it wants mac n cheese with sausage, then okay...I will try to work around that and add some other foods, but if I get it, then I know I won't try a million things later on. Somethings simply don't work though.

Conversation between my body and my brain: *Scenario: my brother was going to the movies and told my mom he'd bring back a popcorn!*

Body: Yeah!!! Bring me back some Cherry Twizzlers and a bag of chippies please!!!
Brain: NO no NO! Think over what you just said. You have 98 days to go. Plus, the chips make you feel ucky inside and the Cherry Twizzlers were part of what made you tummy hurt after the Grease Filled Burger Bash! Do your really want to go through that again?
Body: Well. No. But still...no.

I am hungry! Off to have breakfast and report!
