Just had a look at Virgin holidays on the web. just thought if anyone was planning on making a booking. if you book today they are offering 15% OFF.

Oooh, thanks Candy!! Off to look / book!

Thanks for sharing this Candy!

I'm just trying to persuade DH that we will "need" a break this October half term ;)

OH MY GOD !! I've only gone and booked for next May (06) on the strength of this!

I had been waiting for the next Virgin brochure to come out so I could book through my usual travel agent who offers 12% off. But with this offer of 15% I could see no reason to wait any longer and have booked it.

I have booked next years summer holiday at this years prices less 15%, that'll do for me.

Thanks for sharing this (and also lightening my bank account of £2300 !!)

Me too, Keasden :teeth: . It was completely spur-of-the-moment! The discount was sitting there on the screen looking too good to be true!

DH said it means we will have to sacrifice going to DLRP for New Years' Eve this year :( but we booked for Barbados for this October half-term! :) (couldn't quite stretch to WDW again!).

Thank you soooo much for posting this, Candy. Virgin certainly didn't go to any great lengths to make people aware!

:cheer2: :cheer2:

They did the same thing at either Xmas or NewYear if I remember rightly - yes, I was looking ;)

How exciting, Frances! Where are you going to stay? I would love to visit Barbados but am struggling to fit it in in the next decade around all the Disney destinations ;)

Hi Karen

We booked "Cobblers Cove", there seemed to be a whole array of children activities, such as tennis and sailing lessons as well as arts and crafts. Hopefully DH and I will get some peace!

This means Hong Kong is "on hold" for a while though!

:sunny:

Thanks Frances :)

I'd love to know what you think when you get back - after all you are a woman of excellent tastes :teeth: (think Polynesian here ;) )

I've always wanted to go to the Caribbean and have been put off by the longish flight time (with no Mickey at the end ;) ) but when I looked on the Virgin website I was very impressed with the excellent range of activities for adults and children. My idea of a holiday from hell is two weeks lying on the beach / round the pool in the Costas you see.

Karen, The flight to the Caribbean is much the same length of time as for Orlando. We have holidayed there many times and I would heartily reccommend it, though for us Barbados is rather too touristy...we prefer somewhere like Grenada or the Grenadines. Go for it, I doubt you'd be disappointed.

Karen, you'll be the first to know how it goes! :teeth: I totally agree with your idea of a "holiday from hell" - I too wouldn't enjoy simply lazing on a beach (well, maybe that would be okay for a few hours ;) ) but I need other activities and excursions to keep me happy! Anyway, Happy Easter!

:cheer2:

Thanks so much for posting this yesterday Candy. We've been talking about our dates for next year and this was just the incentive to get things decided and book :) We would have got a 10% frequent virgin discount anyway, but the extra 5% on top is very welcome!!

Karen / Frances - we got married in Barbados a few years ago and found there was lots to do and some lovely places to explore, particularly if you have transport. Harrison's cave is an impressive sight, as is the nearby Welchman Hall Gully. You might also want to check out the Wildlife Reserve Park - they had what seemed like dozen of green monkeys roaming free within the grounds. This mother and baby just came and sat right in front of us:

Oh, thanks Paul!

Thanks Gill & Frances too :)

Sorry Candy I didn't mean to take over your thread :(

I read on another forum that this offer will also be on Easter Sunday so if you missed Fridays one check out Virgin tomorrow.

Good Luck

Thanks so much!

We had booked our first 3 week holiday ages ago. We go August this year and were debating for ages if to try to fit in 2 holidays on one annual pass.

Midway through this discussion I was sent abroad to work to the caribbean, Antigua to be exact which is absolutely gorgeous. When I returned I decided hubby and kids had to experience the caribean too and we booked with Virgin for October half term 2005 which seemed to resolve the 'shall we have another Florida holiday' debate.

But somehow we are going to stretch the finances that bit further "oh look it's such a bargain!" and book 2 weeks at AKL

For anybody considering visiting the caribbean, I could completely recommend Antigua, wonderful people and possibly the most beautiful beaches in the world.

Congrats to everyone who booked with the 15% off :flower:

I wanted to book my flydrives for October 2006,but they didn't have their PE prices, boo hoo :guilty:

:sunny: Well I've just earned loads of brownie points with my brother because I've been helping him plan his Florida trip this year - the first for the rest of his family (we went together back in 1980s).

We spent the day over there yesterday and he booked with Virgin for £600 less than he thought he'd have to pay, so one very happy bunny :cool1:

 I've only just seen this thread and missed the offer! I've still got my flights and car to book for July next year.

:sad2: I'm gutted, i booked on good friday with Virgin through a tour operator & didnt get offered this discount!
Can i ring them direct & beg or ask the tour operator?????
