Just wondering if anyone's ever been close to someone that's famous or had their own 15 minutes of fame.
My DW and I are originally from Pensacola, Florida. I played football in high school against Emmitt Smith. (Future Hall of Fame running back with the Dallas Cowboys and Arizona Cardinals). My wife attended the University of Florida and had a Sociology class with Emmitt and worked on a project with him as well. Two years later my wife, then fiance, went in to confirm our reservations at the Pensacola Grand Hotel for our wedding night. Emmitt was there and left his party to walk over to her and say hello and ask her how she was doing. She didn't invite him to the wedding. My favorite player on my favorite team who had just signed a 40+ million dollar contract and she didn't invite him! The wedding was almost a non-starter
