...

We met through mutual friends where we would all "chat" online before text messaging was on the scene LOL! We were both 16 and lived a half-hour apart from each other. I told him, kind of as a joke, to call me at work where I was working at a receptionist. He did! I fell in love with his voice first (and vice versa). We officially met at a movie theater when our mutual friends wanted to see Ice Age popcorn:: . By accident, we wound up sitting next to each other. We discovered we were both Star Wars fans  and ironically we both loved the same TV shows as kids, especially Darkwing Duck (yeah for Disney Afternoons!!). He was obsessed with Darkwing, and I had a huge crush on him when I was 5!! As the summer went on, we hung out together and then his band had a gig, so he invited me, and insisted that I sing after he found out I was a singer. I'll never forget that moment, when his jaw literally dropped when he heard me...:cool2: haha he finally confessed he had liked me ever since he first heard my voice when he called my work!!! So at 17 we started dating, and we probably broke up and got back together more times than Cory and Topanga on Boy Meets World (also one of our favorite shows!), we were a lot like that movie The Notebook!! Now 5 years later after college we are getting married and finally we have a TV show we can watch together, "The Office"!!! :happytv: But we are just a couple of lovesick teenagers, and we still talk about the days of Darkwing Duck and Boy Meets World, almost as if we have known each other our whole lives!

We are a very old-fashioned romantic couple, both of us insisting that "romance has died" these days but we're doing our part to keep it going! For example, our first kiss was outside on a warm April night with a full moon (totally unplanned) and as he was walking me to my car, I hugged him goodbye and he dipped me down and kissed me like they do in old-fashioned movies!!! I was so shocked and surprised and happy!! Since then we keep the romance going with spectacular expressions of our love, but I don't think anything will top the engagement! I love him! He's my best friend!

These stories are great! I have to share because Disneyland brought us together!

I was in line at Big Thunder Mountain and threw a nickel in the pond to make a wish. Because I didn't know any, I wished to meet a guy who liked Disneyland. That night, I went to a party for a friend I'd known since sixth grade. He introduced me to his cousin, who had a wicked-cool "Incredibles" crew watch and, I found out on our first date, an AP!

The pond at Big Thunder worked so well, next time I'm wishing for a new car! :rotfl:

Funny I moved NY to Texas to be with my DF! And we were married at SBP :)

wow! what part of texas? how do you like it there? I miss texas soooo much!!!
:sad1:

Oh wow! I'm going to DL for my honeymoon! I'm gonna make a BIG wish!!

My DF and I met online too - match.com to be precise. I, like some others, had all but given up the concept of finding my prince and was considering canceling my membership. It was mainly because all of the "nice" men were from so far away, and having tried the long distance thing once (with it failing miserably), I didn't want to do that again. One day I got a "wink" from Brian, who only lived 20 minutes from me!! The rest, shall we say, is history. Our wedding date is 5/24/08. Unfortunately we're not doing a Disney wedding, but we are having a Disneymoon!!!!:bride:

My boytoy and I met in 9th grade. Couldn't stand him then, and even up through junior year of highschool I really didn't like him. Something happen senior year and we went out on a date. it didn't seem to work then so we just stayed friends.

He tells me now that even though we didn't date then he always loved me (awww). he pined for me in highschool all four years and I had no idea.

So fast foward 2 years later and I find out that he's working as a manager at the target down the street from my house. He always seemed to find me whenever I was at the store, which is like all the time. We would talk and then one day exchanged numbers. I was finishing up my last year of university, and he was applying to our local firefighter program and I guess now being at different points in our life, we hit it off!

We've been dating now for 3 years and I can't even remember why I didn't like him in highschool, lol. I'm a special education teacher and he's back in school finishing up his degree and hopefully we will be moving to Tampa, FL in the next two years, once I'm done getting my professional certificate and he's done with school. It's a simpler life there than here in Miami and housing is a lot cheaper!!

SAVE SAVE SAVE for our dream house!!

DF and I met are first day of college. Well, it was a program for incoming freshman and transfer students to come a week early to get used to the campus before everyone else did. We had to take these classes, and the university students together by major. DF and I were the same major, therefore had the same classes. Anyways, the first class on the first day I was sitting with a new friend and here he comes around the corner. My first thought was "Oh S***", he likes me and is going to sit next to me!" My friend can confirm this. So here he comes and plops down right next to me and starts talking. I couldn't stand him. Fastforward to Junior year, and we were living in the same dorm. Well, the rest is history as they say.

I love all these stories. They are so cute.

M&M126 Doc Chey's is so yummy. I love that place.

MEt IN HS in 1999 in an art class.. Been together ever since!!!

I was friends with my DF's brother and sister-in-law. They kept saying we had to be introduced! My family was convinced he was "the one" when he came on a family vacation to WDW. (He grew up in a non-WDW family. The poor boy was so neglected.) He loved it. I knew he was perfect and (of course) we are honeymooning at Disney!

I met my DF online :goodvibes.

I had posted on a local website that has zero to do with dating.
His friend found my post, and managed to find a profile I had up on another website.
I was 19, he was 23.

At first I didn't pay much attention to the emails from this weirdo guy trying to get me to go out with him, but a few months down the road I decided what the heck, and we went to the movies.
To see Ghostship if any inquiring minds want to know. :cutie:

After that, well that's all it took for both of us.
Finally meeting and talking, not to mention making fun of the movie, we realized that we had a lot in common, and there was no lack of attraction to one another.

Fast forward a bit.
One thing lead to another, and eventually we decided two years ago to get a apartment together.
Not even a year into our new home, we got engaged, and I originally planned on a wedding in Mexico. Alas the passport changes, and me thinking, why on earth would I want to get married in Mexico when I can get married at DISNEY WORLD!

Lucky for me everyone, by everyone I mean both sets of parents and all family involved, LOVED the idea.
Of course DF thought it was a great idea as well, especially when I showed him some of your lovely photos from the MK shoot.
I had him sold at that.

During my senior year of high school, my older DB got me a job working at the local record store where he was an assistant maneager. A few months later my DF's older brother got hired and quickly became another assistant maneager. He hired my DF in July of August 2000. I didn't pay much attention to him at that point because I was getting ready to go away to college for my freshman year. So I went off to school for the fall semester and came home for Christmas break. I worked at the record store for those few weeks to get a few extra dollars and that is when DF and I started to get to know eachother. I was almost immediately interested in starting a relationship with him but he didn't seem to feel the same way. I started dropping hints etc but he didn't pick up on them. So I just got blunt about it and gave him my number and told him to call me so we could hang out. He brought the number home and put it on his desk and his DB saw it and told him that he had to call me - so his DB dialed the phone and handed it over. Df and I ended up talking for an hour before deciding to go out for dinner at Fridays. I went to pick him up and we went out for what seemed like a friendly dinner to me. I thought that we were just going to be friend at that point so I went back to school ready to move one. But the night I got back to school, a mutual friend of ours called me to tell me that he had been talking to DF and that he said he really liked me but thought "a college girl" wouldn't be interested in him. :rotfl: (HE was a senior in high school at the time so not THAT much younger then me). So I called him from school, we talked forever and then decided to try out the long distance dating thing. It was weird to not have started the relationship in person but it made it so exciting to come home and see him for the first time. We spent that semester talking for hours on end on the phone and I came home almost every weekend to see him. I decided that with him was where I wanted to be so I transfered to a local school and came home for good. That was 6+ years ago. Its been wonderful and I can not wait to get married.

Great stories!

I don't actually recall the exact first time DF and I met. We are both actors and improvisors in our city, and would cross paths at various shows.

We were doing a "whodunnit" type show one day - and a friend and I were playing detectives trying to solve a murder case. DF played one of the suspects, and for some reason I made a choice to start flirting with him in the interrogation. We both went with it, and before long I realized that I wasn't just flirting in character anymore! I was totally hitting on him, which is soooo not my style!

Well, cut to the end of the show, and I was chatting with some friends and DF came over to say he had fun, and to introduce.... wait for it... his GIRLFRIEND. booooo! Cute guy has girlfriend!

Months pass, and we cross paths again at a comedy awards weekend out of town. Both of our improv troupes were up for the same award, and so we all had to do a show together. We were all hanging around and talking backstage and he says to me "What is that intoxicating scent you're wearing?". Ha. I tell him "I'm not telling you the kind of perfume you wear so you can go out and get it for your girlfriend!" Zing! He says - "What girlfriend? We broke up." We talked and hung out for the rest of the evening(he says I spent the whole night talking about my dog...). He had to go home before the weekend was over, but a week later I emailed him and suggested we meet up to watch a football game.

And the rest is history.

It took me a long time to let my guard down, though. He's younger than me, and for the longest time I couldn't get over that. I kept thinking "This makes no sense - we're at different places in our lives! I'm going to be ready to get married waaaay before he will be, and then I'll be broken hearted!"
Well. We fooled me!

Well he's not a DF yet.....but hopefully within the next few months:goodvibes
I was a freshmen in HS and he was a Junior, we had spanish class together. Our spanish teacher gave us all spanish names so for the first 6 months or so of knowing each other we didn't know each others real names; I was Lolita or Lola for short and he was Tomas :rotfl2: I was pretty shy and so was he but he was taking a photography class and I loved photography. I would always ask to see the negatives for his work and it started from there. I told him I liked him at the end of the year and he said he just wanted to be friends [he thought I was teasing and trying to play a joke on him]:confused3 Skip to my sophomore year he finally admitted he liked me and we dated for about a month; I broke it off because I was worried my friends didn't like him. Horrible I know :sad1: So anyway we stayed friends and I dated a few other guys that year, but always had a bit of a crush on him, then that summer I went on a trip to TN and I found out while I was gone that my BF at the time didn't even remember I had gone!! When I got back My BFF told me that not only did soon to be DF know I was in TN but he knew what day I came back and my flight!!!! I knew I had let somthing special go and we've been together ever since....it'll be 5 years this June:love:

Online. lol. He's always been shy with girls and added me to his Facebook list the summer before I started school. He didn't talk to me until Thanksgiving when he asked if we could meet. Usually I would've said no and called him a stalker, but my grandfather was in the hospital and I needed someone to be there. The day of our first date, I was called into the hospital because my grandfather had gotten much worse. We couldn't help him, and I just was glad to be there for him.

Obviously, we cancelled our first date. I wanted to push forward and try to ignore bhow much it hurt, and then I remembered something my grandfather had said. I have his blue eyes, and all his brothers had the same eyes, but no one else in our family does. He and my grandmother always joked about how I should marry a man with blue eyes so my children could have the same eyes. That's when I remembered that my DF had the same exact eyes I do, and honestly I considered it a sign or something. Stupid, isn't it?

We met up that day. Halfway through the date, I was crying over my grandfather. What a beginning. I thought he'd just throw me out and say it was too much to handle, but he held me and said it was alright to cry even if we barely knew each other. He asked me out the next day. I spent most of the next two weeks in his apartment so I wouldn't have to be alone in my dorm room without anyone to talk to.

It's been 17 months now that we've dated and around 5 months since he asked my father for my hand. We never thought that my Cuban family would wholeheartedly accept an American son in law, but they love him. I don't know how many times my mother says how much my grandparents would've loved to be there for our wedding.

Guess it worked out alright.

I met my DF a couple of years before we got together. He worked for a company that did technical support for our computers at work. He'd been in the offices a few times to install the system. The first time I met him I was married so didn't think anything of it. I was only 21 when I got married it didn't work out although we are still friends. Anyway at work we'd ordered a new pc so I had to put a call into support so that they could install the system again, DF happened to be the guy to call. He could do his work from the office so there was no need for him to be in our office. He talked me through the install and we got chatting about every day stuff. He said that he could remember me from when he'd visited. After that day we started emailing and he always seemed to call if we needed any help. One day he sent me this poem and I was bowled over, we decided that we would meet.
He lived an hour and a half from me so we decided that he'd come down and spend the weekend at my house (in the spare room). We went out and immediately felt a connection. I had said that he'd either run for the hills or never want to leave, luckily he never wanted to leave. We had a long distant relationship for a while and just saw each other at weekends, after being hurt I really wanted to make sure.
I'm very pleased to say that we've been together nearly 3 years and have lived together for a year. He is my rock and I couldn't be without him

:yay: hello! We are new to the boards and this is our first post. My DF Jenn and myself (Brian) actually met in High School 11 years ago. She was a sweet wallflower and I was or at least thought I was Mr Cool. I remember fondly asking Jenn to go to the Prom with me but she turned me down because her close friend had a crush on me. Obviously I was patient. After many years apart with a very slim connection (the same friend and the internet) we became re-aquainted last year. There was always just something about her and it kept hitting me each time I saw her profile on myspace. Earlier this year I boldly predicted to her that I would come visit her in NJ (I lived in Florida) and would take her out and sweep her off her feet. Luckily she didn't turn me down this time. My week vacation turned into a month which quickly turned into a month which in turn lead to me moving back to NJ. We have so much in common, including our love of Disney and it was always both our dreams to wed there....even if we didn't know it. I asked her to be mine two weeks ago today and she said yes!!!! And our date is set for 11/21/07 at the Boardwalk Pavillion. After we are gonna spend the evening in MK together. Jennifer means the world to me and I feel blessed to share my life in her loving gaze. Its great to be here and read all these great stories, we look forward to getting to know you all better!

We met through CB Radio, yikes many moons ago!!!

I was 14, and he was 16. We met at an 'eyeball'. Strangely my name I used on the radio was 'cinders', hiswas Jetstream (not very Disney I know!).
We started out friends and finally dated when I was 17.
After 4 years we got engaged. It was a long engagement (17 years), and finally married at the most magical place on earth in our 20th year.
We have just celebrated our 1st wedding anniversary, and after 21 years, he is still my bestest friend.

DF and I met freshman year of highschool. We remained friends after HS and throughout college. Funny thing was that I would have loved to date him when we were in HS- but, he only saw me as "one of the guys." In college, he wanted to date me, but I saw him as "just a great friend." We finally got our timing right and started dating when he moved home after graduation. We've been together ever since!! Just a little over a month to go, and we'll be married!!:cloud9:

DH and I have known each other since we were in elementary school, although I thought he was a jerk then and he wasn't very nice to me either. He tried to go sleigh riding on what I like to call MY hill, which was really the public library's hill, it just connects with our property and I decided right then and there at the mature age of 9, that he was a jerk and nothing would ever change that... Fast forward to freshman year of high school and we were in the same music classes together. Yes, we were music geeks and loved every minute of it!! ;) We became best friends and shared all kinds of fun with a couple of other friends that all hung out that summer. After that, I knew I liked him, but I figured he was out of my league and he was seriously dating someone. I dated a bunch of guys but I always had a sweet spot for him. Finally, in our senior year, we really started flirting. We always had before, but for some reason, we kicked it up about 10 notches. ;) One of our friends finally looked at both of us and just said, "For crying out loud. When are you guys going to go out with each other?!! You're making us sick!!" We shared our first kiss after a HUGE band day at West Point. I also got accepted to my first choice college that night and he kissed me for the first time. It was one of the best days of my life. I remember feeling like Cinderella that night. princess: We were under the stars on a clear Sept. evening and he just came right up and kissed me and it was one of the most passionate and love filled kisses I've ever shared with a man. :goodvibes

We did have our challenges and there were a couple of other people in our 12 year courtship. However, he asked me to marry him on my birthday, 5/4/05 and we were married at SBP on 12/11/06. We have an 11 year old daughter and are now expecting our second child - a boy. We couldn't be happier and we know that we can make it through anything because we've persevered through so much already. We make people sick because it's like we are newlyweds everyday. And we are not ashamed to show our love for each other.
