...

Sorry I didnt get to your question sooner but it seems as though everyone has replied with the same information I would have!:goodvibes

Chocolate mouse.....I'm sorry, but could you please be a little more specific?? ;) :lmao:

Actually, I can! :rotfl2: I went for a gown fitting today and had to add $40.28 for a bussle and $37.10 for a built-in bra. There's been threads here about foundation garments, but I hadn't read that seamstresses can build it right into the gown. That's a great idea.

Thank you everyone for all of the info - this really helps alot! :surfweb:

Also keep in mind that if you do the honeymoon shoot at any of the parks besides MK, it's an additional $50 (I think I was told this around January 2007).

Is this true for 2009? For the honeymoon shoot if you choose to have it done elsewhere, WDW charges you? I'm doing the MK Shoot, so I for sure wouldn't want my honeymoon shoot to be in MK. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Any recent Escape brides willing to share your breakdown of costs for an Escape Wedding? Thanks!:thumbsup2

I recently applied for my escape wedding (a bit early) but was told I couldnt have it yet I am early but thought I would try my luck (UK etc...) any way was told that we couldn't get our date yet -surpise surprise- anyway in the questions I asked I ask if I could have an outside photographer and they said I could but the photo package I had could not be used for anything else at all. I am going to send an email back to clarify things but I will let you know when I find out more.

They say this, yet it seems like most people who do the honeymoon shoot in a park other than the Magic Kingdom aren't actually charged the $50. :confused3

I just got an email back from disney they no longer substitute the honeymoon package at all.

That is so ridiculous. The photography policy is my biggest gripe with DFTW. I understand Disney's idea behind not customizing escape packages...because that's the whole point of the wishes package...you spend more, you get more.

But surely there has to be some middle ground for people who are having a small wedding and want some say in what happens. I went through a whole big thing where I almost changed to wishes, and it just didn't make financial sense with only 10 guests. But I really dislike this lack of accommodation just because I won't have a ton of guests.

And of course the easiest way for Disney to fix things would be to improve the quality of photography or make it more reasonably priced. It is so exorbitantly overpriced...from the prints to the CD, etc, etc. It makes no sense to use Disney photography.

And I don't see what the big deal is with substitution. I guess I lucked out and booked my wedding before this policy change because I was told I get a honeymoon session since I am using outside photography. Well the wishbook says a honeymoon session is like $350. So why can't the $350 just be subtracted from my MK photoshoot, or from a DP photoshoot? It makes no sense.

When did this change take affect I wonder?

The price of the Escape Package keeps increasing with nothing being added to it. So WDW is still getting paid for a service they aren't performing because a bride/groom choose to use outside photography. They should at least substitute and do the honeymoon shoot. It is better than nothing. They already give restrictions on not being able to wear any fancy attire to the honeymoon shoot.

I need to chill  . Is this absolutely true, or do you think it's based on who you talk to? Sometimes you get different answers in DFTW...

I don't know when it took effect I am hoping it depends on who you talk to I spoke to Brianna Marshall via email and DF spoke to her on the phone, he says that on the phone it sounded like she was reciting a manual or something so I am guessing she is very by the book.

We weren't even allowed to find out if any wishes weddings had already booked the date that we wanted. I don't understand that I explained that I just wanted to know if and when it got booked not that i wanted to book early is there really any harm in saying if it was booked yet or not and I know that others have been told this information in the past.

Who told you this? Your planner? I was told by mine about a month ago that I could receive the honeymoon shoot. I don't think I'll bother anyway, because it's only 30 minutes and you only get two (2) 5x7s and to purchase a CD of the photos is $750.

Where possible, I've tracked it down to the penny. Some numbers are still estimates because they're not finalized. My estimated total including taxes, tips, etc., is just over $19,000. My budget is $10,000, so I'm over by quite a bit. :confused3 I'm not sure if $10,000 was a reasonable number though.

That reminds me that my Banquet Event Order is nowhere in sight.

Does anyone know what a hurricane globe is?

Karen Serette. We worked with Brianna first however. It's my understanding that you work with Brianna before you are assigned your planner, although I could be wrong.

Thats good to know maybe things will change if we get someone else.

We booked our wedding just over a month ago too and we're having the substitute honeymoon shoot, we actually asked for a different location to the parks and got it booked in for the Poly instead of at the parks.

Incidentally Brie was our initial point of contact and confirmed this was ok, but it was Kathleen, our coordinator, who actually booked the date in for us I think.

It must be a really recent change, and it's a shame, but really if you choose not to use one of the elements in the package as it's meant to be used, I suppose it was good of them to offer an alternative at all.

It's a better "deal" for us, as a UK Escape couple, as we get the master CD included of all our DPS photos, but I think we get less prints or smaller prints or something....

I spoke with my Sales Consultant? at DFTW. She stated a honeymoon shoot is substituted. She stated you are able to book an alternate 1/2 hour session, at a resort location in casual attire, receiving 2 photos, in lieu of what's in the experience. This differs from what is offered on a honeymoon shoot add-on.

I inquired about having the option to do it in a theme park and she stated there are discussions around this subject as of right now as to whether it will be offered in the theme parks (at least during my time of year for my wedding). It's hard to do during park hours and maneuver around guests (feedback received) while trying to get the shots you want. The resort location is more creative and relaxed (per feedback received).

I can discuss it with my coordinator since they will be the one to book it.

That sounds good I would rather have it in a resort we got engaged at GF and are staying there for a few days so I would prefer my photo's done there. Its strange though that they have suddenly started this when the have been doing the honeymoon shoot in the parks for years. Do you have a different sales consultant Honey, did they let you check dates?

Hi Laura,

No, she didn't let me check dates. She stated if I want to go straight to contract to make sure when I call I already have my reservation number (Escape). Yes, I had a different sales consultant. I hope that helps.
