So...this has never happened to us. We normally never have ENOUGH points, but somehow we have 14 leftover points to use by November 30, 2006. Our WDW vacations are already set for this year....OKW Studio in May for 3 nights and BWV 1 Bedroom in December for 7 nights.

Due to vacation time limits, we cannot use them in WDW. Our OKW trip is an attempt to use our points before they expire, but we still ended up with these leftovers. Airfare has been purchased, so we cannot extend that trip another day. And sadly because of the expiration date, we cannot add to our BWV December trip.

Does anyone has any ideas on what to do with 14 DVC points by 11/30/06? I'd hate for them to go to waste, but there seems to be very little I can do with them.

can you bank them? if not try to rent them or I have heard of some people donating them to make a wish.

How many points do you have? You should be able to bank them. (If the "leftover" points are in banked or borrowed status, you can ask MS to use them for your May vacation and free up current use year points).

With a December use year, you have until the end of September to bank up to 25 % of your points. So if your annual allotment is more than 56 points, you can still bank.

Best wishes-

P.S. If your entire May trip is already using borrowed or banked points, not much you can do if you don't want to rent a reservation. (You might have to add some points to the 14 to make a multi -day reservation for someone). If it were me, I'd probably just let them go, rather than try to deal with the hassle of finding someone to rent a 1 or 2 day reservation.(but that's me).

If you can't bank them, I would post them on the rent board to rent or transfer. You can also just check the rent board - there seems to always be a DVC owner that needs to rent just a few points and have them transferred to their account to make a reservation. We rented/transferred 3 points to a person earlier this year so she could reserve an entire week at OKW. With Paypal the payment was almost instantaneous. The only catch is once you transfer points out you can't have points transferred into your account for the rest of your UY.

What about increasing your OKW reservation from a Studio to a 1BR?

Thanks for your ideas. :) I'll discuss what to do with my DH when he gets home.

No, we cannot bank these points because they were banked.

FYI - Since they are banked points, they can't be transferred to another member. You would have to make a reservation for someone. Also, a DVC member could transfer a few of their points to you to go with your 14 and you could make them a reservation. (example - I could transfer 2 points to you and you could make a reservation for two nights in a studio at OKW during September).

Someone beat me to the upgrade to a one bedroom idea. Let me tell you that's the way to go...even if you have to borrow a few points to do it. Once you've stayed in a one bedroom, your studio days will be numbered!!! My wife and I always stay in a one bedroom unit and when I have used Old Key West on business, I use a one bedroom unit even though it's just me.

:jumping1: DITTO !!!! UPGRADE!!!! :jumping1:

If you chose not to upgrade, I would be interested in 12 of the points if a Beach Club studio is available Sunday Oct 1st,Monday October 2nd or Tuesday October 3rd (any 2 nights) Actually would like to stay all 3 nights but would need more points. Could I use all of your points and get the rest from another owner? I am not a DVC owner and this is my first attempt at renting points.
