14 days at pop, only 10 hopper offered?? ripoff

When we go down for 2-3 weeks we ALWAYS get the Annual Pass. Much, much less and you can go down again.

And most times, they have AP rates for the rooms and you're better off with AP's and discounted rooms instead of the "package deal".

OP, do you usually go every year? If so, although the tickets are more expensive now, it really would pay to consider the premium annual pass. Think of it this way...you have until June to pay off the $3447 cost of the up coming trip. When you get there, upgrade to the premium annual pass (looks like an additional cost of about $1200. for your family). Count THAT as part of your next trip's budget, and then go back the next year, 2 weeks earlier.

You will be paying about $1200 PER TRIP, but you can come and go as you please. You would also be eligible for the DDE card to save 20% on your meals (I think that is also good for a year, so you would get two trips out of that, too) and any AP discounts that might come out.

I know they changed the park tickets,(just recently) so when you buy the hopper w/ the plusses, it has the same amount of pluses as days for the parks.

However, when did the OP buy her package, or is she still in the planning stage? If the package was paid in full for next year, would she have purchased the old park tickets that wouldn't have as many pluses?

I didn't pay attention as to when her trip was, this year or next.

There are lots of fun things to do at Disney outside of the parks, go look at other resorts, Ft. Wilderness Movie (free), Stoll along the boardwalk. Enjoy a nice dinner at one of the resorts. Or just enjoy an evening at your resort pool and arcade.

We just bought 10 day park hopper tickets including water parks etc. (process date 7/30/07) and the paperwork that the passes are attached to says "10 DAY PARK HPR W/ 6 FUN VISITS". So it seems like you get 6 "extra" visits (not 10) i.e. water park, Disney Quest, etc.

You purchased your tickets before the price increases (8/5/2007). Along with the price increase, the number of days included int he waterpark and more option now corresponds to the number of days of your ticket so a 10 day ticket with waterparks and more also included 10 fun visits instead of the 6 that you recieved with tyour tickets purchased before the rate hike.

I just got off the phone with WDW Travel. You all were right (as usual), with my 14 night stay, I get 10 days of park hopping and 10 visits to the waterparks, disney quest, PI ) I think we will be fine now.
Thanks for all the ideas about spending those 4 days without a park. I live in NJ so going to the boardwalk wouldn't be that exciting for my kids that go there all the time anyway. Watching Illuminations from there, going to poly dinner and watching fireworks from there, things like that sound great.
We try to visit WDW every 2-3 years and we like to make the most of it.

One more suggestion is that Universal is offering a 7 day pass for IOA and Universal studios for $85 per person, almost the same cost as a Cirque du Soliel ticket. These days are to be used consecutively after first day. But they are valid indefinitely until the first use. So you could purchase them now and use them in '08. Even if you only go two or three days it would be worth it and your kids could get a great roller-coaster fix!!!

I want to thank everyone for the info on this thread. I was having the same problem trying to plan a 12 day trip for 08 but now I understand I can do with the 10day option. ALthough in Australia, we do have 14 day tickets being offered by travel agents.
