can you upgrade 14 Day Ultimate Ticket that comes with the free dining to an Annaul Pass and if so does the AP start on the first day you used the ticket or on the day that you upgrade it

Whilst I have not tried this myself I think the answer is no.

It is possible to upgrade a 7 day pass but not 14 or 21. When you upgrade Disney place a value on the ticket you are upgrading and use this value as a credit against the cost of the AP.

WDW cannot put a value on a 14 or 21 day ticket becasue these tickets are not sold in US, whereas a 7 day ticket is sold in US and therefore can be recognised in their system.

I have seen the odd report of it being done but not all CMs know how and can be very hit & miss.

If you keep trying you might get lucky. And the AP would be valid from the first day you used the 14 day ticket.

Nope you can't. They are UK exclusive tickets designed for UK guests due to our longer hols. We're told VERY definitely to inform guests that they expire either 14 days after first activation or on the printed date. The tickets we currently sell are ONLY valid if the first day of use is before 31st Dec 2010. If someone does upgrade out there, they are breaking the rules so I would be shocked. Sorry.

There was a thread on here last year (just searched my favourites can't find it) with details how to do it, it was written on Disney paper by a Cast member and scanned in by someone, I also have it printed off somewhere.

Recently there have been threads on Dibb saying a few have had success upgrading, I think I might have these links saved at work, will look tomorrow, if I have them I will post.
I believe most success has been in Hollywood studios guest services as you enter on the left, they seem to know how to do it there.
As PP says all who have managed it have said the start date of the AP is backdated to the start date of the ticket you have upgraded from.

It can be done as I did it last may at magic kingdom guest relations. Don't have much time now but look back through older threads and I posted about it. Good luck!

Wow, that's interesting. Totally the opposite of what the cm in this country are told! But then, why am I surprised at that :sad2:

I had success after following Babyboo's instructions. Epcot were not helpful at the start of the holiday (but that may have been fear of losing the dining which would involve a whole lot of paperwork and other people to sort it out). On the last day of the holiday, I went to HS and didn't even need to show the print out of how to do it. I just asked if I could upgrade and within minutes I had my PAP in my hand (and got DVC discount). Our PAPs were not backdated 21 days (was a 21 day ticket), which surprised me and I figured it was just done in error and the rest of the dining didn't vanish either.

I was so happy that when I went back in December, we brought the CM who helped us his favourite UK treats!
