Hi everyone, this is going to be difficult for me to word, so I think I'll bullet point it:

  • Our friends are staying in WDW for 14 nights
  • They have 9 nights at AKL and 5 nights at a yet to be decided resort
  • Are they best to get the UK 14 day tickets?
  • Or is there a possiblity to get 14 day American MYW Tickets? (I can only see up to 10 day)
  • Can they get their tickets added to their room keys, or will the split resorts make it too complicated?

They would still be best getting 14 day tickets from the UK. US tickets offer a max of 10 days.

If they want a split stay with the dining plan, free or not, you need a minimum of a 1 day base ticket for the second stay.

UK does not do 1 day tickets, the least is 5, so assuming they want the DDP, they might be better doing AKL through Disney UK with the 14 day ultimate added to their KTTW card and then booking the second shorter stay through Disney.com and adding a 1 day base ticket to get dining.

If they don't want dining they can just get the 14 day tix added to the first resort and book the second as room only with Disney UK. They will want the longer park ticket added to the first stay as it is only added at check in so they don't want to be without access to parks by only getting this later in the stay.

They aren't getting DDP.

So will they have to keep their first KTTW and then that will be their park ticket still once they have their second KTTW?

Yes. Some folk actually stay at Disney first, add their park tickets onto the KTTW and then go stay offsite, but can still use the ticket element of the KTTW for park access. In the case of your friends without the DDP it is much simpler so they can stay anywhere first and just get tickets added to that reservation.

:) Awesome, thank you.

Shame they can't swap the last 5 days of tickets over to their 2nd KTTW. i guess they can ask.

Can also confrim this, last year had 21 day tickets for stay at VWL/HRH/AKL; tickets put on VWL cards whihc we sued for whole trip

The US (MYW) ticket is only 10 days but it is valid for 14 days from 1st use so unless they are going for more than 10 days out of the 14 the 10 day ticket would be suitable.
Also depends if they want to hop or do water parks etc. A basic 10 day MYW works out around £170 compared to £225 for a 14 day Ultimate but add the extras onto the MYW and price could total more than the ultimates. Price list here http://www.mapleleaftickets.com/disney_tickets.htm

Thanks so much everyone.

I think I will advise them to get the 14 day UK, as they will be touring with us a lot of the time, and we park hop every day, and there's always the possibilty they may spend their last 5 days over near us at BW so even on non park days we may pop into EPCOT/DHS for an hour or two.

I can't even guarantee they won't be in a park on the wedding day, as it's not till 2.30pm so something tells me Jack will take his friend (who is also a best man) into AK for a last ride on Dinosaur as a single man!
