With Holding and a couple of Banked points, I have 139 points to use prior to 8/1. I'm already scheduled to go to Epcot MM w a three night stay that cost 52 points the end of June, but trying to figure out what to do with this pile of points. We can't stay on weekends, our Silver Passes are blocked for June and July (so Resorts, DS, Mini-golf vacation), but we do live close enough that a Sunday or Monday arrival w a no later than Friday departure works. This am I got 2 CCV studio nights (6/1-3) and could add a Cabin (6/3-4) on Saturday. That would be one point more, 140, but might be worth it. We stayed in a Cabin last December and loved it, but one day might be more depressing than fun.
Option 2, also considering 2 nights in an AKV-Jambo studio and one night in the Jambo GV. I have never stayed in one and it looks fantastic. A few points less than the 139 points.
Option 3, four nights in a Treehouse Villa. Never stayed in one of these either, but looks like a great place to relax a few days. Almost exactly the 139 points.

Anyone have any advice? Any other short-stay splurges you can suggest? I am very appreciative of any advice you might share. TIA!

Can you deposit holding points into RCI? That is a last resort type option that some have mentioned doing to salvage points that can't be banked.

Thanks for the option. Never used RCI, but I thought it had to be accomplished earlier in your UY? At this point, I won't be totally surprised if we lose all the points, but trying to think positively.

I like the CCV and Cabin option. It’s possible, due to the resorts just being open, that you might get in before 4 pm!
When we stayed in December we got in around 2, but there were maintenance guys there until 7 bc someone had broken some outlets and MouseKeeping didn't see them during cleaning. That was a lesson learned.

I agree that this is the option that seems the most appealing, right now. With the hot tub, and the Disney music playing, it was a special place. But, if your vacation centers on a Resort, as much as I love WL, AKL and the animals are pretty spectacular. Difficult decision.

Yeah, if you are an AKV person. I am not so I would never chose or recommend that...unless it’s conceirge! 😂😂😂

I would suggest not waiting to make your decision because anyone with a cancelled reservation from March, April, or May and a July, August, or September UY is likely going to be trying to use their points.

Personally, I would prefer more time, so I would vote for the treehouse villa.

So, CL at AKV is something I could NEVER get my DH to do again. First time it was okay bc only a couple of nights and didn't use that much, but the last time it was a nightmare. We spent a lot of time at the Lodge and there were a herd of obnoxious kids that seemed to be out 24/7. DH got sick and still blames "those kids". :)

He's on board for CCV, too. I think it's his favorite DVC at the moment.

I agree about making the decision ASAP. With holding points, I can only make a reservation as far out as June 2, today. As that 60 day window keeps getting closer to the end of my UY, I'll probably keep modifying, based on the latest DVC opening rumor. My DH thinks they are lost (no opening), but I'm being optimist.

Also, I think I miscalculated points w the Treehouse, so that might not be an option. :( Plus, I wondered about the walk to transportation from there. My only stay at SS was one night years ago and I am completely unfamiliar w the QS options (which we use, so would like convenient.)

Depending on your accommodation preferences and willingness to pay $90, you can also consider booking a Disney Collection reservation. The All Star Resorts are 14 (Sunday - Thursday) and 17 (Friday - Saturday) points per night (preferred room), so a 9 day, 8 night stay, from Saturday through the following Sunday, would be 121 vacation points. You could always add the Sunday, for a 10 day stay, to bring the total to 136 vacation points.

That's a good option, but we need to be home on weekends for our business, so max of Sun-Friday stay. That limited time frame was why I considered blowing so many points on a single night. :)
