So glad to hear she is doing better. I'm sure the blood patch made a big difference in the headache.
I was given a spinal due to a headache and neck pain. I knew the pain was due to a neck pull that I experience due to lifting luggage wrong on a trip back to Missouri from WDW. I was in a lot of neck pain and had a slight headache. It was of course, a Saturday night, so I made a trip to the ER. The ER doctor insisted on doing the spinal tap to rule out menningitis, although I knew it would yield nothing. Sure enough. The ER doctor gave me a prescription for a muscle relaxer and sent me home.
By the time I got home, my head was killing me. I took the prescription and went to bed. The headache did not go away, but wasn't that bad when I was lying down. I spent most of Sunday, lying down. On Monday, I went to work. After a couple of hours, I almost passed out from the headache. I went back to the ER and they did the blood patch. What a difference. The ER nurse told me that the leakage of spinal fluid after a spinal tap is not that unusual. If so, I don't know why they just don't routinely do the blood patch after the tap.
Perhaps, you DD started out with some type of virus and the spinal tap made everything much worse. I hope she is feeling much better soon.
