Ah, the beauty of homeschooling!
I've told dh that if I ever want to throw in the towel and not homeschool anymore, he needs to remind me that we'll have to do Disney during peak!
I homeschooled Christopher from 9-12 (took 3 years!) after Kayla died! It was easy and actually pretty much his responsibility with some assistance/guidance from me. I loved it! He loved it!
He did excellent on ACT/SAT and just because we live here in Indiana, I made him get his GED so it wouldn't be a hassle for college.
He is in his 5th year at I.U. - Management Program. Has received honors and such for his excellent grades. This is a kid who was a "C" student in school!!!
Michael asked me to try it after Kindergarten - I did for 15 months and he just started getting too much for me - so I put him in school and he thrives. I'd love to get back to homeschooling but until we live in a kid populared area, the only time he has with his peers is school. So for now, he's there.
Also, in this mostly caucasian area - a mixed race, black or Hispanic child needs to learn about prejudice and how to deal with a lot of bigotry even at the elementary level.
Back on topic about the Christmas cruise, I want to commend Regina of
Dreams Unlimited for her excellent and speedy service for quotes and information. I was impressed since I generally make all my own travel arrangements at her efficiency and professionalism!
Way to go, Regina and DU!
