According to the article, New Beginnings says it's been identified as the "potential" clinic that she might be going to. They would know more in a few hours. The family has not commented one way or another. I think this article is another bid for publicity by New Beginnings. They don't even have a long-term care facility set-up. They want to provide that service, but have said they don't yet have funding. If Jahi goes there, they claim they will have the appropriate facilities and staff to care for her. I think they keep throwing their name into the mix in hopes of gaining donations and benefactors. They're clearly riding the coat tails of this story. That's my take on it at this point.

Was wondering that myself since this thread took a hiatus lol! Looks like not much - the lawyer is promising that she will be transferred before the deadline on Tuesday.

We'll see. I could see it playing out that the deadline comes, hospital disconnects her because no plans were in place, then the family announces that they just needed "another hour!!!"

They are running out time! I guess there's only two choice.. to ask for more time or pull the plug. But either way.. it's sad.

I can't see jahi's body leaving the hospital any time soon.

I strongly believe this mother has some kind of mental illness going on. I know it is extremely difficult to take your daughter off life support, but reality should have set in by now.

Maybe the mother is brainwashed thinking that there is hope. She doesn't understand that brain dead means the person is legally dead. It's not like persistent vegetative state, which means they can breath on their own.

To be super honest, as horrible as it sounds to say, I've been hoping she would just "die" on her own (heart stops beating) while the dispute is going on. That way the hospital doesn't have to be labeled as "pulling the plug" even though, as has been very clearly outlined here, she is not really alive right now.

Did anyone read about the 3 year old in HI who just passed and was brain dead from a dental procedure? The whole time I was reading it I kept thinking about the case in Oakland and how this mother didn't question the brain death. (she is suing the dental which appears to be a valid case).

I don't believe this facility has the proper licenses needed to care for in patients. I might be wrong, but I don't think I am. With all the publicity, and the announcement of a lawsuit already I think any facility that was even considering it would drop the idea faster than they would drop a hot potato.

This family needs to come to terms with reality and fast, I don't see the order being extended yet again especially in light of the court proceedings on Friday

Could someone get another heart attack even if they are already brain dead? Maybe her organs will eventually start failing and her heart will also fail. How long could they live like that if the brain is dead and only lives on ventilator?

Yes, what was voted on vs. reality. My understanding is the current law is already "sliding down that slope". Now, they're adding children. Parents, guardians, doctors, lawyers, caregivers,...who is deciding, which ones are too expensive, imperfect and/or inconvenient to live? I've heard, they are hoping, that it will help tourism.

Good for you. If you truly valued human life, you'd show compassion for people in unfathomable, unbelievable circumstances. But you don't, so I question whether you truly value human life or if you just like riding up there on your high horse.

The person is the one who makes the decision for both children and adults.

Wish this circus would just end....

Transferring her should start the end of the news circus, I would guess a few more days of updates until she arrives at the new facility or her heart finally gives and that will be the end of the news circus. Even if the new facility can keep her "alive" for decades I'd guess the daily news updates will quickly stop without the court hearings and drama.

I thought her family would eventually accept reality and end life support but I'm just glad they are getting what they want and finally able to move her. I still disagree with their decision to keep her on life support and move her but I respect it.

One way or another I hope the little girl finally gets some peace.
