13-Month AP promo

I just got back from a great trip with my extended family and so, naturally I have to start planning the next one.

Right now, I am tentatively planning to go October 15-20, 2017, but I cannot make firm plans unless I get least one friend to commit to coming with me. My sister wants to take a "girls-only" trip in October 2018, which would be just us and our girls (ages 15, 13, 10 and 6 at time of travel) and those dates would be between the 19th and 27th.

My question is....will the 13-month expiration remain in effect even if the pass is not ACTIVATED by January 3? If I buy it before the promo expires, will it remain a 13-month pass? *IF* I end up going in October 2017, then I will activate the pass but it MUST be good for 13 months or it will be of no use to me. If I don't go in 2017, then I will save it for 2018 and use it in 2019 for our spring/summer trip.

The pass doesn't need to be activated by 1/3/17, you just need to purchase it by then in order to take advantage of the 13 month promo.
