I didn't think anyone could perceive this story as anything less than positive, but I was wrong. . .

I deleted the post and link because this family ahs been through more than enough heartache lately, and I don't want to do anything in any way to contribute to more.

This is a beautiful and happy story! This family is going to use this money to help pediatric cancer patients and their families! C'mon guys! This is a great story!

Maybe I think it is so wonderful because I know this family, but it was in the newspaper, and all of their local news channels covered it!

I followed Jake at the end of his journey through his website. He will continue to live on through good works that his foundation will be able to fund.

The story of his battle against cancer is really special! We prayed for him and his health. We all prayed for him so hard, but it wasn't meant to be the way we wanted it. At least he got to spend his last days at home surrounded by his family.

Thanks to everyone who has responded. It is stories like this that give us new reasons to believe!

O.k. now I'm bawling like a baby!!!!

I've been in the position of having a child in the hospital and needing the support of others. People often think about the medical expenses, but there is so much more to it than that. Both parents are missing work, they are at the hospital for days on end with nothing to eat so they are spending money at restaurants, the hospitals are sometimes far from home so there are the travel expenses, sometimes you haven't had clean clothes in days so you just need to go to Target and buy a sweat suit. Oh my goodness, I could go on and on. What they are doing is terrific and so many people will benefit from it.

I am not a big gambler, but this is really touching.
