The Cipro could be causing diarrhea also.

But ask for prescription Lomotil - I have a constant prescription and it works.

Don't stay home - you will only feel worse.

Oh, I sure hope not.

I've got a few suggestions, I don't know if you are doing any of these or not, I'm just laying them out there.

Are you taking imodium?
How's your iron?
Are you taking some fiber?
Eating yogurt?
Bananas?
I get a strawberry, banana smoothie from orange julius that helps calm things down for me.
Ever heard of Bentyl? It's something a doctor had me on for a little while.

I haven't had a problem in months, thank goodnesss, but that smoothie works whenever I start to feel bad.

I sure hope your doctor can help you.

NO!

You must go on this trip! The doctor has to find something to stop this. You really need this trip with your family.

Try taking Imodium at bedtime. Sometimes that helps with the morning. Good luck!!
Also, I can't take the advanced formula. It doesn't work at all. Have you tried the regular imodiium?

No advice, but I'm really sorry you are having health issues.
I sure hope you can take the trip!

My youngest son went through a 10wk course of diarrhea a couple years ago. It was only a couple times a day, but school rules say he has to go home,so he was missing several days of school a week. :guilty: Finally I just insisted that he be treated for parasites, even though there was no clinical evidence and every test was negative :thumbsup2 . Voila! Within 24hrs of starting Flagyl the diarrhea was under control, stools firmed up and he felt better. He had to take it for 10 days (and it's nasty-wasty stuff) but that was the end of the diarrhea.

Good luck. I have IBS so I really feel your pain. I hope you don't have to cancel your trip.

Start eating yogurt and pick up a bottle of acidolpholus (sp) pills from a health food store. That may help.

Good Luck.

:tinker: :grouphug: :shamrock:

On no C.Ann, I am so sorry about your health issues :worried:. After all your hard work and planning this special gift trip, that would be so sad to not be able to go with your family. :guilty:

Cipro could be part of the problem. I cannot take it and am deathly allergic.
Also, just the anxiety of all the trip planning reaking havoc with your system,
that may all end soon as you're on the plane with you lil DGD.

Hang in there and believe there is always room for a miracle by Sat. morn! :wizard:

Have faith it will work out still and we'll all pull out our big gun prayers for you! :thumbsup2

Godspeed ^i^

My Dr says the best thing is the BRAT diet for that problem.

Bananas
Rice
Applesauce
Toast

I'm in agreement with the Cipro.

However. Talk to your doctor. There are meds that can help. Immodium gives me back spasms, and my doc gave me some prescription that you mix with water and drink. Controlled it for the couple of weeks I was having problems for no known reason. Good stuff. Also, someone mentioned Lomotil. That is also great stuff. I had issues the week before my honeymoon (probably a warning, but did I heed it?) and that was a lifesaver!

You are not going to miss this trip!

:wizard: :wizard: You have to go on that trip!!!

Even if you take a later flight!!

:wizard: :wizard:

Could it be the stress of planning the trip? I would definitely still go... even if I had to stay in the room on occassion. I'm so sorry :guilty:

C Ann run to the store and get yogurt. It will help. Cipro gave me the runs too and that's what helped. Go on the trip, you deserve it and need it.

Surely your doc can give you something to help until he figures out what's going on. You really need this trip -- sending :wizard: that the doc can get you on the right track.

Flagyl is not a sulfa drug - I'm allergic to sulfa too, but took Flagyl this past winter when I had c-diff. Were you on any antibiotics when or just before this started? C-diff is an intestinal infection brought on by antibiotics. Flagyl has a really nasty taste. Most people call it a metallic taste - I thought my mouth tasted like an ashtray. Beyond the horrible taste (I chewed lots of gum) I didn't have any other side effects and it did clear up the c-diff.

I hope you feel better and can make your trip.
