12 Nights at POP - ALL the way from Brisbane, Australia, WITH PICS Updated 6/13 Day12

DBF was feeling much better today & actually ate something.
On the bus we were sitting next to this family from Chicago & they had a little boy probably about 8 & he was asking us about Australia & wanting to know if we rode to school on Kangaroos. He was the cutest little kid & he gave me & DBF some Mickey stickers.

We went to Club cool & I made DBF have beverley, he hated it.
Glad DBF was better.

Love Club Cool. Watermelon Coke is my favorite.:thumbsup2

Yay, a fellow Aussie!!! :cheer2:

Enjoying your report so far! Although not loving hearing about the long plane trip(s) to Orlando!! We're planning on heading over the WDW again next January, and I'm already dreading the long flights!!

Did your BF end up liking Disney? I hope so!!

And did you like Vegas?! We had a big 7 week trip around the USA in 2006, and we both loved Disney, but I didn't love Vegas so much. Too hot and too much of a boys town!! Hehee.

Anyway, can't wait to hear more about your trip!! :cool1:

Woah very nice pictures!

Thanks for reading. It's good to hear from other Aussie's.
DBF did end up liking Disney. I'm trying to convince him to go again next feb. So fingers crossed.

Vegas was alright, It was winter when we went and it was actually really cold. We were there for 12 nights and I thought that was way too long. I probably wouldn't go back there. Loved M&M world though.

I will post another update later tonight :)

The plan today was to head to Downtown Disney about 10am and have a look around, do some shopping & then have a look in Disneyquest, head back to the hotel for a rest & then go to MK for Spectro.

We woke up around 8.30am and got dressed. We caught the bus to DTD and had Breakfast at Maccas. We then had a look around at the shops in the Marketplace.

We started off at the Lego store which DBF loved, he wanted to buy a lego train set, but it was very big & we didn't think we would be able to get it home, He has regretted that desision every since as he has tried to look for one back home & he hasn't been able to find one.

We went to the world of disney store & I bought some Pink Mickey earrings and a couple of shirts. We looked around some of the other shops in the marketplace & then we walked through Pleasure Island & on the West Side. We went to the Virgin Megastore & DBF saw a Playstation 3. He had been wanting to buy one of these for ages so he decided to get it as it was a lot cheaper than back in Aus. So we spent an hour in the virgin megastore. He ended up getting the PS3. 4 games and a heap of accessories for it. As he was paying for the purchases, we asked if they could hold it for us as we still wanted to go to Disneyquest, they told us that we could take it too guest relations at the marketplace and they would be able to take it back to the hotel for us. So we decided to walk all the way back to the marketplace, It was about 12.00pm and it was really hot & we were carrying the heavy bags, we were soo hot when we got to guest relations. We lined up and asked them if they could take the bags back to the hotel, they told us they couldn't as they were Virgin bags and not from a disney store. We asked if they could just hold our bags while we went to Disneyquest and they said no and that we needed to take them back to the Virgin store and they could hold them for us. So we walked all the way back to the Virgin store, I was soo hot and soo annoyed that we had to walk all the way back there again with the heavy bags. DBF ended up carrying all the bags as I was soo angry about all the walking and about being stuffed around. The Virgin store held the bags for us, but wouldn't look after my 1 bag with the stuff I'd bought from the world of Disney.

After all this it was about 1pm and we headed into Disneyquest, we played a few of the games and went on the Buzz lightyear astro blasters but we were really tired and I was hungry. So after about half an hour we decided to leave disneyquest and had lunch at Wolfgang Pucks, which was really good and it was our first table service meal of the trip. (DBF didn't want to do many table service meals as he is a chef and whenever we go anywhere he always has something to complain about.) Wolfgang Puck however was up to his standard so we had an enjoyable lunch. We were going to head back to disneyquest after lunch but we couldn't be bothered, so we picked up our bags from the Virgin store and headed to the bus.

We caught the bus back from the Pleasure Island stop.

Here is DBF with his purchases waiting for the bus.

We got back to the hotel around 3pm and found this in the window.

America20071024-1.jpg

DBF couldn't wait to get the PS3 out so he set that up, while I went to Petals pool bar and got a Hula Hoop Yum! I went back to the room and read Harry Potter while DBF played his PS3.

We wanted to have a good rest so at 8pm we caught the bus to MK & arrived at about 8.30pm. We headed to Frontierland and rode BTMR & then we went on Splash. As we were on splash Wishes started and we got to see them as we rode splash. :cheer2:

After Splash we found a spot outside Pecos Bill for Spectro & I grabbed us some popcorn and drinks while we were waiting. At 10pm Spectro started and I LOVED it. Best Parade I've ever seen. Here are a few pics.

Sorry Couldn't decide which ones to post, so you get them all.:cool1:

After Spectro we caught the bus back to POP, and went to bed around 12.
It had been a really good day today & Spectro is a must see.

Next up: Disney MGM Studios

DBF looks so happy with his purchases.
Cool you got to see some of Wishes from Splash.
We saw some of the Spectro Parade from Splash. Neat looking down on it before we took the plunge. Even if it was for only a few seconds.

He was really happy with his purchases, he got everything so much cheaper than it is here in Aus. Spectro from Splash would have been great. Ill have to try see that next time

We woke up at about 9.00am today. We got up & got dressed and caught a bus to MGM. We arrived at MGM about 11.00am and we walked in just as the High School musical show was on. I love HSM so it was a great start to the day.

America2007896.jpg

We hadn't had breakfast yet so we decided to have an early lunch at ABC Commisary. We both had the burger here & DBF really liked it, he said it was the best burger he   had on the whole trip. After Lunch we went on the Great Movie Ride, which I really enjoyed but DBF thought this was lame.

America2007897.jpg

We then went & saw Sounds Dangerous & then grabbed a FP for Star tours and then we watched Indiana Jones. After Indy we saw the Jedi Training academy, I thought this was good but I liked the Pirate Tutorial at MK better.

America2007904.jpg

We rode star tours which DBF loved, he is a Big star wars fan & had to get this photo:

America2007905.jpg

After Star tours we went and got a FP for TOT as it had a 70min wait. We then went & saw Muppet Vision 3D & It was now about 2pm & DBF was hungry again so he got a Pizza from Pizza planet.

America2007906.jpg

America2007907.jpg

The Little Mermaid is my all time favourite movie so I was really looking foward to seeing Voyage of the Little Mermaid. DBF said he really didn't want to watch it today & asked if we could leave it for another day. I agreed as I knew we would be coming back to MGM.

It was now time to use our TOT FP so we headed back that way & got a Rock N Roller FP and went on TOT.

America2007910.jpg

America2007908.jpg

Even though we had a FP we still waited about 25mins for TOT. DBF was really scared on TOT and didn't like it at all. I loved it, it was such a good ride. I had to buy the pic as DBF looked so scared.

Picture.jpg

After TOT we had headed over to Lights, Motors, Action. DBF absolutley loved this & he was recording it on our Video Camera. We have one that records straight on to DVD & it ran out halfway through the show & he was trying to change the disc really quickly & he dropped the one in there & it smashed and we lost all our video of the day & all of spectro the night before. I was really upset about this & I couldn't enjoy the rest of LMA.

America2007914.jpg

After LMA we went on the backlot tour. I really liked this & I am a HUGE fan of Josh Hartnett so I was really excited that we got to see the plane that he flew in Pearl Harbour.

America2007923.jpg

As we were finishing the backlot tour, we saw that the Osbourne lights were on so we went and had a look at them. I really liked these & it really was a great thing to see. Here are a few pics.

America2007959.jpg

After the amazing lights we used our FP for Rockin Roller Coaster, This was awesome, we both really loved this ride. DBF said it was the best ride in all the parks. After RNRC we grabbed some food at Rosie's All American Cafe.

America2007976.jpg

At 7.30pm we headed into the 2nd showing of Fantasmic which was starting at 8pm. There was still heaps of seats available and we got a seat near the front. I loved Fantasmic & so did DBF he said it was his favorite of the shows.

America2007991.jpg

After Fantasmic we were tired so we decided to head back to POP & we got back to the hotel around 9.30pm. It was a really good day today but I was dissapointed we hadn't seen VOTLM & I was really looking forward to seeing this.

Next up: Our Loooong day at Kennedy Space Center

I see you watched Staceyprincess: in your room at Pop Century. Being from Australia, I'm suprised you knew of her....I guess you read some posts here about her. So do you have a favorite phrase of hers, such as 'Pretzels und beer"?

Love your trip report and pictures. We are staying at Pop for a few night this month. I thought about requesting the 70's section 4th floor also, seems like a quiet location. My DD wants to know if you got alot of towel animals?

Too bad about your video.
Fantasmic is my favorite night show.:thumbsup2
Hope you get to see VOTLM.

Just got all caught up today. You have some really great pictures of SpectroMagic and Fantasmic. Mine don't always turn out that great. Sorry to hear you lost all you video for the day.:sad1:
Can't wait to read more! I hope you made it to the Mermaid Show!

I'm loving your TR. Can't wait to hear about Kennedy Space Center! :cool1:

Thanks For Reading:)

Thanks for reading. I hadn't heard of stacey before we got there but she was on the TV everytime we turned it on, so we did end up watching her a few times. I cant remember any quotes.

Thanks for reading. The 70's section was great. Not too far from classic hall & it was really quiet. We could also see Illuminations from our window. We had 1 towel animal in our room when we arrived & after a couple of nights I put that one in my suitcase & the next day there was another one. They also put a towel around one of the plastic cups & put our toothbrushes in it, which was cute. During our stay every window we walked past had a towel animal in it, so it looked like they had put one in every room. Hope u enjoy your stay at Pop.

Just caught up love the TR. Wow what a long flight that must have been. I am not a huge fan of flying but will do it.

Signing on to your trip-report, as a fellow Australian I am very interested in how your holiday went. I am planning a trip for me(24) and my DBF(21) for 10 days probably next year. We are debating staying for a couple of extra days so we can go to the Space Centre and Sea World. I really hope your trip went well and that you DBF stayed healthy for the rest of the holiday. If you don't mind me asking how much did you spend on the Disney portion of the trip, I am trying to save but it is so much money (PM me if you don't want to advertise the amount).

Can't wait for the next installment.

Hi there,
I was at Pop roughly around the same time you were, Dec4th-11th and we were in the 70's building 4 level 3. For all we know we could have bumped into one another.

I am enjoying your trip report, I can't wait to read the rest.
I can't believe you didn't let DBF have just a tiny sip of your beer, but then again he refused to ride Figment with you, I guess the punishment fit the crime. :)

Thanks for reading, it was a long flight but it was worth it.

Welcome. Thanks for reading. Hope you get to go next year, it was worth every penny. We went through Escape Travel & booked everything through them, however I probably wouldn't do that again. It would have worked out cheaper if we booked online ourselves, but including the flights & universal, SW & KSC the total for the both of us was - $8300 AUD

Thanks for letting me know, did that price include accomodation and park tickets?
